Outlook: The Gaels are young, but appear to have a ton of potential.
“This is going to be a great year of building at Bishop Gorman,” Thorpe said. “We have a lot of very talented and promising underclassmen. Look for them to be a powerhouse in the next few years.”

Sky Pointe win the Class 4A boys and girls team cross country titles Saturday. Northern teams won the 5A and 3A team titles in Reno.
Nevada high school state championships aren’t exclusive to just teams in the Silver State. Six out-of-state schools compete athletically for state titles against Nevada schools.
On Aug. 17, new seasons will start for high school sports teams in nine fall sports across the state. The recent realignment process has made some changes to the leagues.

The Shadow Ridge boys won the Class 5A state cross country meet at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday. The Bishop Gorman boys and Desert Oasis girls won in 4A.
Here is the 2021 Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada girls cross country team.
Northern schools won all six of the Class 5A, 4A and 2A/1A state cross country championships. Foothill’s Nathan Carlin and Moapa Valley’s Cyrus Hatch won individual races.
The Bishop Gorman boys and Desert Oasis girls claimed their first cross country state championships at the Class 4A meet Friday.
The Centennial boys claimed their second straight Class 4A state championship, while the Coronado girls earned their second crown in school history.
