ROUNDUP: Silverado boys place four in top eight to win meet

Silverado had four of the top eight finishers to win a three-team meet Wednesday at Liberty.

The Skyhawks had a team score of 37, one point better than Boulder City. Liberty was third with 51.

Liberty’s Al Galen won the 3.1-mile race in 16 minutes, 22 seconds. Boulder City’s Matt Lundgren was second in 16:38.

Eldorado takes top two spots in win
At Chaparral, Fernando Price and Daniel Hernandez finished one second apart to lead Eldorado to a win in a three-team meet.

Price won the 2.3-mile race in 13:20. Hernandez took second in 13:21. Rancho’s Antonio Boucher was third in 13:42.

Eldorado finished with a team score of 30, seven points better than Rancho. Chaparral was third with 53.

Tech packs up home win
At Tech, the Roadrunners placed three runners in the top five to win a three-team meet.

Spring Valley’s Ricky Barcenas won the 2.5-mile race in 13:56. Durango’s Lewis Donovan was second in 14:04. Tech runners Chris Rising, Jose Escamilla and Eduardo Cordova took the next three places.

The Roadrunners had a team score of 36. Durango was second with 48, followed by Spring Valley (57) and Sierra Vista (86).

Clark parades to win
At Cheyenne, Clark had the top seven runners to easily win a three-team meet.

The Chargers (15) beat Western (51) and Cheyenne (53).

Clark’s Jake Naylor won the 2.25-mile race in 12:30. He was followed by teammates Troy Goudge (13:19) and Jordan Kofford (13:26).

Aussies win four-team meet
Australian runners swept the top three spots in a four-team meet at Arroyo Grande Park.

Australian Select runner Travis Carter won the 3.1-mile race in 17:31. The top local finisher was Coronado’s Gariet Odell, who took fourth in 17:59.

Australian Select won the meet with 27 points. Green Valley was second with 44, followed by Coronado (49) and Desert Oasis (116).
