ROUNDUP: Ponce, Roadrunner boys roll to tri-meet win

Martin Ponce won a 2.5-mile race in 13 minutes, 42 seconds Tuesday to lead Tech’s boys cross country team to victory in a three-team meet at Liberty.

Tech won with 20 points, followed by Liberty (52) and Silverado (63).

Tech’s Ken Lawrence was second in 14:28, and teammate Zach Zimdars took third in 14:36.

Green Valley wins five-team meet
At Foothill, Doug Harris placed second to lead three Green Valley finishers in the top six as the Gators captured a five-team meet.

Green Valley had 31 points. Foothill was second with 43, followed by Del Sol with 87, Boulder City with 107 and Canyon Springs with 108.

Del Sol’s Nick Priego won the 2.5-mile race in 13:32.
Harris took second in 13:40, with Foothill’s Brian Marshall placing third in 13:45.

Hartle, Bulldogs dominate
At Floyd Lamb Park, Centennial scored a perfect 15 to beat Shadow Ridge (42) and Arbor View (84).

Centennial’s Nick Hartle won the 2.9-mile race in 14:57, followed by teammates Ian Lee (16:21), George Espino (16:28), Tyler Hilt (16:28) and Jackson Carter (16:35).

Cougars top Wolves, Cowboys
At Sonata Park, Coronado had six of the top seven finishers on its way to 19 points and a victory over Basic (47) and Chaparral (73).

Coronado’s Alan Ekanger won the 2.8-mile race in 15:45.5. Teammate Alejandro Montesinos was third in 16:33.5, Alex Tarangel took fourth in 16:49.3 and Wyatt Ihmels was fifth in 17:22.6.

Basic’s Jonny Stiles was second in 16:14.

Billings, Bengals win meet
At Bonanza, Jonathan Billings won the 3.1-mile race in 19:14 to lead Bonanza to 26 points and a victory over Bishop Gorman (33), Western (81) and Adelson School (93).

Bonanza’s Logan Epperson was second in 19:34, followed by Bishop Gorman’s Ralph Mendez (20:03).
