ROUNDUP: Kim paces Green Valley boys

Julius Kim won in 13 minutes, 20 seconds to lead the Green Valley boys cross country team to victory Tuesday on a 2.5-mile course at Foothill.

The Gators scored 24 points, followed by Foothill (46), Liberty (84) and Boulder City (88).

Green Valley’s Matt Campa-Moreno (13:27.1) was second and Boulder City’s Matt Lundgren (13:39) third.

Basic places three in top five to win
At Sonata Park, Basic had three of the top five runners on the way to 32 points and a win over Coronado (37) and Del Sol (63).

Del Sol’s Colin Smith won the 2.8-mile race in 16:16.5. He was followed by Basic’s Dennis Coughlin (16:33.2) and Kyler Campbell (16:41.5) in third.

Douglas, Maldonado lead Tech to win
At Tech, the host Roadrunners placed two of the top three runners on the way to 23 points and a win over Silverado (38) and Adelson School.

Silverado’s Dante Carter won on the 2.45-mile course in 14:16.

Tech’s Dominique Douglas was second (14:28) and Miguel Maldonado (15:00) third.

Cowboys place four in top six to win
At Chaparral, the host Cowboys had four of the top six finishers on their way to 22 points and a victory over Desert Pines, Canyon Springs and Virgin Valley.

Nestor Sanchez won the 2.5-mile race in 15:38 to lead Chaparral, which was the only team to register a team score.

Teammate Kenneth Ritchie was second (15:58) and Virgin Valley’s Tait Lane took third (16:15).

Palo Verde tops Shadow Ridge, Mojave
At Palo Verde, the Panthers (26) took three of the top five spots to defeat Shadow Ridge (37) and Mojave (no score).

Shadow Ridge’s Sam Mahar won the 2.8-mile race in 15:41. Palo Verde’s Sebastian Karbowniczek was second in 15:43.

Durango posts perfect score to win tri-meet
At Pahrump, Durango’s Matt Shelton won the 2.65-mile race in 14:35, and the Trailblazers took the top five spots to finish first with 15 points.

Pahrump Valley (45) was second and Desert Oasis didn’t post a team score.
