League: Class 4A Southeast

Head coach: Mark Tondryk, 12th season

Returning lettermen: Five

Top athletes: Tom Dougherty (So.), Bryce Tondryk (So.), Tim Conaway (Sr.), Nate Collins (Sr.), Blaise Donaldson (So.), Eddie Smisson (So.)

Outlook: The Cougars return five lettermen, including four of the top seven runners from a team that qualified for the Class 4A state meet last year.

“We are a bit young and inexperienced, but we have some good young runners,” Mark Tondryk said. “We should contend for one of the top three spots in the Sunrise Region.”

The Shadow Ridge boys won the Class 5A state cross country meet at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday. The Bishop Gorman boys and Desert Oasis girls won in 4A.
