ROUNDUP: Valley girls run past Las Vegas

Alexis Moreno scored 15 points Tuesday, and the Valley girls basketball team used an 18-4 second-quarter run to down host Las Vegas, 51-43.

Valley grabbed a 34-23 halftime lead and extended it to 46-30 after three quarters.

Milana Jones led the Wildcats with 13 points, and teammate Bri Johnson scored 12.

Desert Pines 61, Chaparral 31 — At Desert Pines, Andrea Jefferson had 19 points and six rebounds and Clarissa Davis and Ta’Quiyyah Boyles each scored 14 points as the Jaguars ran past the Cowboys.

Boyles added 13 rebounds and LaBrea Walker supplied 10 points and six assists for Desert Pines, which jumped to a 21-2 first-quarter lead.

Roxanne Pipitone led Chaparral with 13 points.

Eldorado 54, Rancho 29 — At Eldorado, Princess Jervis had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Takeyra Ingram added 10 points to lift the Sundevils past the Rams.

Areania Hewing had 14 rebounds and seven points for Eldorado. The Sundevils led by only three at the half but outscored Rancho 34-12 in the second half.

Khalia Branch led Rancho with 11 points.

Moapa Valley 43, Pahranagat Valley 34 — At Moapa Valley, Caley Dunlap scored 13 points to lead the Pirates to a comeback win over the Panthers.

Moapa Valley trailed by two points at halftime but enjoyed a 12-3 advantage in the third quarter.

Dakota Day led Pahranagat Valley with 12 points, and Mary Higbee added 11 points.

Mountain View 52, Lincoln County 40 — At Panaca, Ellie Markwardt scored 24 points, and the Saints used a 21-9 fourth-quarter burst to hand the Lynx their first Class 2A Southern League loss of the season.

Maicah LeBaron scored 12 points for Lincoln County, which led 22-19 at the half.

Mountain View was 15-for-24 from the free-throw line, compared with 4-for-9 for the Lynx.

Calvary Chapel 54, The Meadows 20 — At The Meadows, Anna Duerden had 15 points as the Lions routed the Mustangs.

Sammie Mann added 12 points for Calvary Chapel, which outscored The Meadows 22-2 in the fourth quarter.

Needles 56, Lake Mead 33 — At Needles, Calif., Chrystian Dick had 12 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Mustangs past the Eagles.

Miranda Bracket had 19 points, seven rebounds and seven steals for Needles. Alex Chandler added 12 points, six rebounds and eight assists.
