ROUNDUP: Sierra Vista girls use big third quarter to power past Western

Jeanette Jackson scored 13 of her game-high 32 points in the third quarter Monday to help Sierra Vista’s girls basketball team to a 54-49 win at Western.

The Warriors led 27-23 at the half, but the Mountain Lions went on a 22-12 run through the third quarter.

Johnie Pride added 12 points for Sierra Vista.

Daresheoun Lee led Western with 18 points. Michelle Simon added 10 points for the Warriors.

Bishop Gorman 89, Durango 28 — At Gorman, Aaryn Ellenberg scored 17 points in the first quarter and finished with 31 as the Gaels whipped the Trailblazers.

Ellenberg made three 3-pointers in the first half, helping the Gaels take a 27-4 first-quarter lead and a 55-11 lead at the half.

Amber Lane added 15 points for the Gaels. Chelsie Pitt scored 12 and April Rivers had 11 for Gorman.

Cherelle Hicks led Durango with eight points.

Pahrump Valley 38, Clark 29 — At Clark, Alyson Kunzi scored 13 points, and the Trojans took control early by grabbing a 16-7 first-quarter lead en route to downing the Chargers.

Ashley Lindgren added 12 points for Pahrump Valley.

Tarah Murph led Clark with 11 points.

Desert Pines 53, Canyon Springs 45 — At Desert Pines, LaBrea Walker had 22 points, seven rebounds and seven assists to lead the Jaguars past the Pioneers.

Faith Harper led Canyon Springs with 12 points.

Las Vegas 54, Eldorado 37 — At Las Vegas High, Courtney Ladson led all scorers with 16 points as the Wildcats topped the Sundevils.

Milana Jones supplied 11 points for Las Vegas.

Casey Bradshaw paced Eldorado with 15 points, and teammate Jeronica Jerkins scored 10.

Valley 59, Rancho 24 — At Rancho, Christina Davis scored 19 points, and Estell Wilson added 17 as the Vikings dominated the Rams.

Aisha Momodu led Rancho with 12 points.

Chaparral 55, Sunrise Mountain 21 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Cowboys led 26-9 at halftime and cruised past the Miners.

Nazzarh Lockett led all scorers with 17 points for Chaparral.

Henderson International 37, Calvary Chapel 33 — At Henderson International, Brittany Huff scored 11 points, and the Wolverines grabbed a 14-6 first-quarter lead to hold off the Lions.

Kerry Chang added 10 points for the Wolverines.

Anna Duerden led Calvary Chapel with 14 points, and teammate Marissa Bonnefin scored 10.
