ROUNDUP: Robinson’s free throws help Mojave girls rally past Virgin Valley

Jazzmine Robinson scored 43 points — including an 8-for-8 showing at the free-throw line in overtime — Wednesday to help Mojave’s girls basketball team nip visiting Virgin Valley, 84-83.

Mojave trailed 72-71 with six seconds to go in regulation when Robinson got a steal and was fouled. She hit 1-of-2 foul shots with two seconds left to force overtime.

Tashahni Thomas added 15 points, and Teaira Shorter scored 13 for Mojave. Robinson added 11 rebounds for the Rattlers.

Jenelle Weythman led Virgin Valley with 30 points, and teammate Rachel Morris scored 26.

Coronado 59, Green Valley 37 — At Coronado, Sofie Cruz scored 15 points to lead the Cougars past the Gators.

Sarah Dexter added 14 points for Coronado, which used a 20-9 third-quarter spurt to take a 42-27 lead.

Shavon Stevens paced the Gators with 14 points.

Silverado 63, Del Sol 24 — At Del Sol, Tae’lor Monroe led a balanced attack with 19 points, and Natalie Lainhart scored 18 in leading the Skyhawks to an easy victory over the Dragons.

Brittany Loguidice and Jessica Meyers had 10 points apiece for Silverado.

Kim Chischillie paced Del Sol with nine points. 

Liberty 73, Basic 32 — At Basic, Amanda Delgado scored 22 points as the Patriots routed the Wolves.

Destiny Whitehead had 13 points, Tia Chai added 12 points, and Alena Evans supplied 11 points for Liberty.

Kailai Brantner led Basic with 17 points.

Foothill 37, Tech 29 — At Tech, Christina Nash poured in 13 points, and Cheryl Harless added 10 points to help the Falcons hold off the Roadrunners.

Adriana Heredia paced Tech with 14 points.

Las Vegas 51, Chaparral 37 — At Las Vegas High, Shomari Harris tallied 14 points to help the Wildcats top the Cowboys.

Matti Ventling added 10 points for Las Vegas.

Jacquie Ferguson paced Chaparral with 12 points, and teammate Octavia Gray scored 10.

Canyon Springs 75, Eldorado 23 — At Eldorado, Pearl Paulo scored 18 points to lead the Pioneers past the Sundevils.

Kenosha Wright had 16 points and Mandy Chitwood 14 for Canyon Springs, which held Eldorado to four points in each of the middle quarters.

Gigi Jerkins led Eldorado with seven points.

Rancho 44, Sunrise Mountain 29 — At Sunrise Mountain, Tryicia Payne had 16 points to lead the Rams past the Miners.

Mariah Coleman added 11 points for Rancho, which trailed 16-11 after one quarter.

The game was tied at 20 at the half, but Rancho limited Sunrise Mountain to three points in the third quarter to take the lead.

Jasmine Jones and Jenea Yurek-Carhee each scored eight points to pace the Miners.

Valley 78, Desert Pines 24 — At Desert Pines, Shayna Porter had 23 points, five steals and four assists, and the Vikings routed the Jaguars.

Brianna Johnson added 12 points and nine steals for Valley, which got 12 points and six steals from Christina Davis. Estelle Wilson supplied eight points and nine rebounds for the Vikings.

Kiana Alexander paced Desert Pines with 12 points.
