ROUNDUP: Rancho girls unleash second-half rally to nip Valley

Rancho’s girls basketball team didn’t score in the first quarter Wednesday night, and managed only three points at halftime.

The Rams made up for it in the second half.

Rancho outscored Valley 20-8 in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback for a 41-37 home win over Valley.

Darje Martin scored all 10 of her points in the second half to lead the Rams, who trailed 18-3 at the break.

LaKissa Martin and Kanosha Grey each added nine points for Rancho.

Gabrielle Cabanero scored 11 points to lead the Vikings.

Basic 53, Silverado 43 — At Basic, Kailai Brantner had 15 points and six assists to help the Wolves top the Skyhawks.

Kelsey Gunther and Shanice Valentine each had nine points for Basic, and Dana Deloney supplied eight points and six rebounds for the Wolves.

Brittany Loguidice and Jessica Meyers each scored 12 points for Silverado.

Liberty 51, Coronado 40 — At Coronado, Alena Evans scored 14 points to help the Patriots top the Cougars.

Sydney Clark added 11 points for Liberty, which outscored Coronado 22-6 in the second quarter to take a 29-18 halftime lead.

Sofie Cruz scored 16 points to lead Coronado.

Chaparral 47, Sunrise Mountain 28 — At Sunrise Mountain, Tichina Savoy had 18 points to lead the Cowboys past the Miners.

Octavia Gray added 10 points for Chaparral, which outscored Sunrise Mountain 33-16 in the middle quarters.

Elise Marshall scored 13 points to lead the Miners.

Del Sol 43, Tech 30 — At Tech, Melissa DeSantiago had 18 points to help the Dragons down the Roadrunners.

Desiree Orozco added 15 points for Del Sol, which used an 11-1 fourth-quarter run to pull away.

Cristina Wilson scored 17 points to lead Tech.

Las Vegas 69, Eldorado 40 — At Las Vegas High, Shomari Harris scored 22 points, and the Wildcats grabbed a 36-17 halftime lead on their way to a win over the Sundevils.

Matti Ventling added 15 points, and Shaleea Butler scored 14 for Las Vegas.

Deniseun Jackson had 15 points, and Allyah Swain scored 12 for Eldorado.

Canyon Springs 70, Desert Pines 24 — At Desert Pines, Shamiyah McNeal had 19 points, and the Pioneers rolled past the Jaguars.

Pearl Paulo added 13 points, and Mandy Chitwood scored 12 for Canyon Springs, which led 52-18 at the half and 66-18 after three quarters.

Leslie White scored 10 points for Desert Pines.
