ROUNDUP: Payne, Vikings girls run past Rams

Tyricia Payne had 26 points, 11 rebounds and six steals Monday to lead Valley’s girls basketball team to a 65-51 win over visiting Rancho.

Payne shot 11 of 16 from the field. Gabby Cabanero added 17 points and five assists, and Kennedy Wharton supplied 10 points and five steals for the Vikings, which sprinted to a 23-7 first-quarter lead.

Erica Johnson and Darje Martin scored 14 points each to lead Rancho. Kanosha Grey supplied 12 points for the Rams.

Sunrise Mountain 48, Chaparral 47 — At Chaparral, Da’Nisha Wedlow tallied 19 points, and the Miners grabbed a 25-11 halftime lead before holding off the Cowboys.

Tiara Veal added 12 points for Sunrise Mountain.

Tichina Savoy paced Chaparral with 11 points, and teammate Unique Wilson grabbed 13 rebounds.

Las Vegas 68, Eldorado 34 — At Eldorado, Matti Ventling scored 17 points, and teammate Shomari Harris added 16 points as the Wildcats ran past the Sundevils.

Shaleea Butler had 14 points for Las Vegas.

Deniseun Jackson led Eldorado with 16 points.

Canyon Springs 78, Desert Pines 25 — At Canyon Springs, Pearl Paulo posted 20 points, six rebounds and three assists as the Pioneers rolled past the Jaguars.

Cherise Beynon added 18 points, and teammate Kiara Washington had 13 points and nine assists for Canyon Springs, which led 49-9 at the half.

Cydney Myles led Desert Pines with 10 points.

Desert Oasis 67, Sierra Vista 21 — At Desert Oasis, Bri Osorio scored 14 points as the Diamondbacks routed the Mountain Lions.

Auburn Smith and Isis Haywood both added 12 points for Desert Oasis, which led 28-3 after the first quarter.

Jasmine Suarez led Sierra Vista with 11 points.

Bishop Gorman 69, Spring Valley 21 — At Spring Valley, Zhane Dikes scored 21 points to help the Gaels cruise past the Grizzlies.

Sandria Bolden added 13 points for Gorman, which got 11 points from Diamond Major and 10 points from Yasemeen Sadullah.

Shauna Patterson and DeTiese Moore each scored seven points to lead Spring Valley.

Durango 43, Pahrump Valley 36 — At Durango, Nakyia Mandy tallied 10 points, and the Trailblazers used a 13-6 run in the third quarter to down the Trojans.

Darea’l Thomas grabbed 12 rebounds for Durango.

Taylor McJunkin paced Pahrump with 10 points.

Western 41, Bonanza 32 — At Western, Jocelyn Jordan scored 12 points, and the Warriors used a 28-16 run in the middle two quarters to down the Bengals.

Alyssa Powers scored 14 points for Bonanza.

Centennial 62, Faith Lutheran 21— At Centennial, Jada Brown had 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs past the Crusaders.

Breanna Workman added 10 points for Centennial, which led 37-8 at halftime.

Julia Benko and Sam Leonard each scored seven points to pace Faith Lutheran.

Arbor View 57, Cimarron-Memorial 52 — At Cimarron, Jena Valenzuela scored 20 points as the Aggies ralllied from a 31-26 halftime deficit to down the Spartans.

Kelsey Rasore added 12 points for Arbor View.

Briana Williams and Taya Harper each scored 14 points for Cimarron.

Legacy 57, Mojave 22 — At Legacy, Mayisha Marlowe scored 12 points to help the Longhorns defeat the Rattlers.

Markeisha Evans added 11 points and nine rebounds for Legacy, and teammate LaNeisha Jackson had six points and 12 rebounds.

Shadow Ridge 54, Cheyenne 41— At Shadow Ridge, Rayven Thomas scored 15 points as the Mustangs downed the Cowboys.

Lajuana Brown led Cheyenne with 19 points.

Virgin Valley 62, Clark 37 — At Mesquite, Abbie Barnard poured in 23 points to help the Bulldogs run away from the Chargers.

Kourtney Metzger added 12 points for Virgin Valley.

Lisa Ko paced Clark with nine points.
