ROUNDUP: Nieves helps Sierra Vista girls run past Rebels

Kennedy Nieves posted 15 points and 16 rebounds Friday to help Sierra Vista’s girls basketball team to a 46-33 win over host Savanna in the Lady Rebel Holiday Classic in Anaheim, Calif.

Enas Ajaj added 13 points, and Melia Tadytin supplied eight points and nine rebounds for the Mountain Lions.

Marlene Montero had 11 points for the Rebels.

Bishop Gorman 73, Our Lady of Peace (Calif.) 51 — At San Diego, April Rivers tallied 23 points, and the Gaels used a 27-5 third-quarter run to ground the Pilots in the So Cal Holiday Prep Classic.
Raychel Stanley added 15 points for Gorman.

Kellie Ferrell had 14 points, and Sophia Millay scored 11 for Our Lady of Peace.

Legacy 47, Immaculate Heart (Calif.) 32 — At Ontario, Calif., Deja Brown tallied 20 points to lead the Longhorns by the Pandas in the West Coast Holiday Festival.

Markeshia Evans added 10 points, and Tori Payne had nine points and 17 rebounds for Legacy.

Durango 51, Galena 46 — At Reno, Jazmine Chavez had 16 points and seven rebounds, and the Trailblazers used a 21-7 fourth-quarter spurt to rally past the Grizzlies in the Silver State Slam.

Maria Rico added 14 points, and Brittany Reno scored 13 for Durango.

Kaitlyn Hawthorne led Galena with 16 points.

Eldorado 59, Bishop (Calif.) 43 — At Reno, Denisheun Jackson pumped in 28 points to lead the Sundevils by the Broncos in the Silver State Slam.

Allyah Swain and Kaelyn Swain added eight points apiece for Eldorado.

Argonaut (Calif.) 47, Bonanza 31 — At Reno, Cara Tortorich scored 12 points to lead the Mustangs by the Bengals in the Silver State Slam.

Trane’e Jenkins had 10 points and six rebounds, and Saniah Simpson added eight points for Bonanza.

Murrieta Mesa (Calif.) 39, Cimarron-Memorial 33 — At Riverside, Calif., the Rams used a 15-5 second-quarter run to down the Spartans in the Lady Bear Classic.

Emily Cox paced Cimarron with 14 points.

Hurricane (Utah) 61, Lincoln County 27 — At Cedar City, Utah, Madison Hall tallied 18 points to lead the Tigers past the Lynx in the Steve Hodson Classic.

Jaycee Wadsworth led Lincoln County with eight points.
