ROUNDUP: Legacy fends off Mojave in girls basketball

Kendra Irving hit a 3-pointer with less than a minute remaining to lift the Legacy girls basketball team to a 52-50 Northwest League win over visiting Mojave on Monday.

Breanah Manley scored 18 points and Irving 17 for Legacy. Kindrea Poole added six points and 12 rebounds.

Jazzmine Robinson scored 16 points and Clarissa Cannon 14 for Mojave, which rallied from a 27-19 halftime deficit to briefly take the lead in the fourth quarter.

Cimarron-Memorial 63, Cheyenne 55 — At Cheyenne, Catherine Wyre hit four 3-pointers and scored 24 points as the Spartans defeated the Desert Shields.

Cimarron’s Zerie Baptista added 15 points.

Sabrina King scored 14 points to lead three Cheyenne players in double figures. Shaunice Cameron and Taryn Hicks each scored 13 for the Desert Shields.

Silverado 64, Tech 50 — At Tech, Alena Evans scored 10 of her 18 points during a 22-5 second-quarter run to help the Skyhawks down the Roadrunners.

Shea Collins added 16 points and Natalie Lainhart 12 for the Skyhawks.

Cheryl Harless led Tech with 25 points, and Mesha Phillips added 12 points.

Sierra Vista 58, Spring Valley 43 — At Spring Valley, Jeanette Jackson scored 20 points to lead the Lions past the Grizzlies.

Nicolette Grigsby scored 12 and Medinah Hennix 10 for Sierra Vista.

Spring Valley’s Mary Melancon had 13 points, and Chyna Wimberly scored 11 for the Grizzlies.

Palo Verde 53, Arbor View 41 — At Arbor View, Hayley Henderson had 14 points to lead the Panthers over the Aggies.

Shameka Smith and Jasmin Kiley each scored 11 points for Palo Verde.

Jena Valenzuela had 14 points and Candice McFarland 13 for Arbor View.

Durango 67, Desert Oasis 41 — At Desert Oasis, Jasmine Suarez scored 13 points, including three 3-pointers, to help the Trailblazers defeat the Diamondbacks.

Durango’s Megan Tullis added 12 points.

Auburn Smith had 16 points for Desert Oasis, and Alexis Caulk scored 10.

Liberty 67, Del Sol 27 — At Del Sol, Daynice Cochran had 20 points to help the Patriots down the Dragons.

Amanda Delgado added 11 points for Liberty, which led 36-11 at the half.

Amy Austin led Del Sol with 18 points.

Centennial 57, Shadow Ridge 12 — At Shadow Ridge, Deanna Daniels had 15 points and Shannon Brown 14 as the Bulldogs routed the Mustangs.

Alexis Byrd added 11 points for Centennial, which led 15-0 after one quarter and 34-3 at the half.

Bonanza 69, Clark 28 — At Bonanza, Shirley Pitts scored 17 points to lead the Bengals over the Chargers.

Alex Duncan added 13 points for Bonanza. Alice Pitts (11), Christin Figgins (10) and Aimee Doyle (10) also scored in double figures for the Bengals.

Kearra Nesmith scored nine points for Clark, which was 4-for-18 from the free-throw line.

Green Valley 54, Basic 17 — At Basic, Vajae Robinson and Jazmine Jarvis each scored 18 points for the Gators in their win over the Wolves.

Green Valley outscored Basic 23-1 in the third quarter.

Kailai Brantner led the Wolves with nine points.

Bishop Gorman 72, Pahrump Valley 22 — At Gorman, Dannielle Diamant scored 10 of her 15 points in the first half for the Gaels in their win over the Trojans.

Gorman’s Aaryn Ellenberg (14), Yahindra Edwards (12) and Chelsie Pitt (10) also scored in double figures.

Kristi Daffer scored 11 to lead Pahrump.

Virgin Valley 49, Lake Mead 35 — At Lake Mead, Rachel Morris had 15 points, 10 steals, seven rebounds and five blocks to lead the Bulldogs past the Eagles.

Shelby Brotherson added 10 points for Virgin Valley, which led 19-2 after the first quarter.

Jordan Clarke paced Lake Mead with 11 points.
