Roundup: Lajaei West’s near double-double helps Del Sol edge Silverado

Lajaei West had seven points and 12 rebounds to lead Del Sol’s girls basketball team to a 22-21 home win over Silverado on Monday.

Markay Merchant added five points and eight rebounds for the Dragons.

Sandra Mills and Kimber Tanner each scored seven points for the Skyhawks.

Desert Oasis 71, Canyon Springs 23 — At Desert Oasis, Ahmaya Smith led three double-figure scorers with 15 points to power the Diamondbacks by the Pioneers.

Eliyjah Pricebrooks and Desi-Rae Young each added 13 points, and Melissa Simmons, Sierra Mich’l and Dajaah Lightfoot scored eight apiece for Desert Oasis. Mich’l also had four blocks.

Iyani Hayden led Canyon Springs with nine points.

Foothill 53, Palo Verde 50 — At Foothill, Taylor Bair scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Falcons past the Panthers.

Bri Rosales added nine points for Foothill, which led 35-25 at halftime.

Alyssa Maillaro led Palo Verde with 24 points, and teammate Maya Bega had 14 points.

GV Christian 43, Sky Pointe 24 — At Sky Pointe, Chloe Lamb had 15 points, 15 rebounds and six steals to lead the Guardians past the Eagles.

Abigail Johnson added 10 points, and Hope Watson had seven points and six boards for GV Christian.
