Roundup: Justice Ethridge leads Centennial past Oregon state champ in Iolani Classic title game

Justice Ethridge scored 18 of her 26 points in the second half Saturday to help Centennial’s girls basketball team to a 53-43 win over defending Oregon Class 6A champion Southridge in the championship game of the Iolani Classic in Honolulu.

Ethridge, a UNLV commit, made six 3-pointers for Centennial, ranked No. 6 nationally by USA Today. The Bulldogs led 22-14 at the half and expanded the lead to as much as 15 in the second half.

Eboni Walker added nine points, and Ajanhai Phoumiphat scored eight for Centennial, which made 15 of 21 free throws.

Walker was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Ethridge and Phouimphat each earned a spot on the all-tournament team.

Cameron Brink, a 6-foot, 4-inch sophomore, paced the Skyhawks with 15 points. Boise State commit Maggie Freeman added 14 points for Southridge.

Lake Mead 46, GV Christian 27 — At Lake Mead, Rebekah Fuller had 15 points as the Eagles defeated the Guardians.

Shelbi Shaw added 10 points for Lake Mead, which led 18-6 after one quarter and 28-11 at the half.

Chloe Lamb led GV Christian with 10 points.
