ROUNDUP: Harless scores 21 to fuel Tech’s road victory

Cheryl Harless scored 21 points and visiting Tech edged Shadow Ridge, 64-59, in girls basketball on Thursday.

Mesha Phillips added 18 points for the Roadrunners, and Adriana Heredia scored 13.

Shadow Ridge’s Elisha Hensey led all scorers with 31 points, and Cheyana Slocum added 12.

Rancho 59, Clark 34 — At Clark, Khalia Branch scored 13 of her 29 points in the fourth quarter to help Rancho polish off the Chargers.

Tarah Murph had 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead Clark, and Alicia Wilbert had 10 rebounds.

Las Vegas 57, Spring Valley 31 — At Spring Valley, Kelli Descheney scored 13 points and the Wildcats rolled over the Grizzlies.

Chyna Wimberly led Spring Valley with 13 points.

Mojave 46, Chaparral 43 — At Chaparral, Jazzmine Robinson scored 13 points and the Rattlers held off a late Cowboys rally.

Desiree Pierce scored 15 points for Chaparral. 

Durango 63, Valley 52 — At Durango, Mia Bell’s 25 points and 10 assists propelled the Trailblazers past the Vikings.

Jasmine Suarez supplied 15 points for Durango.

Valley’s balanced attack featured Vanessa Corona with 14 points, Christina Davis with 13, and Jessica Walten with 12. 

Sierra Vista 52, Eldorado 45 — At Sierra Vista, Jeanette Jackson compiled 20 points, and the Mountain Lions held off the Sundevils.

Kim Rouzer added 11 points for Sierra Vista.

Princess Jervis led Eldorado with 11 points and Gianna Lafayette had 10.

Centennial 67, Petaluma (Calif.) 44 — At the High Sierra Winter Classic in Reno, Johnna Brown scored 25 points and dealt seven assists as the Bulldogs won their tournament opener.

Deanna Daniels added 16 points for Centennial, and Alexis Byrd contributed 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Virgin Valley 57, Western 40 — At Western, Rachel Morris supplied 16 points and 12 rebounds as Virgin Valley pulled away from the Warriors.

Callie Magoon added 12 points and Ellie Biasi 10 for the Bulldogs. Virgin Valley outscored Western 31-16 in the second half.

Daresheoyn Lee led Western with 17 points, and Melanie Russell had 15.

Pahrump Valley 59, Faith Lutheran 32 — At the Pahrump Valley Cage Classic, Kristi Daffer led all scorers with 14 points as the host Trojans beat Faith Lutheran.

Alyson Kunzi and Casey Scheller each added 12 points for Pahrump. Ashley Green led Faith Lutheran with seven.

Mountain View 32, Savanna (Calif.) 24 — At Anaheim, Calif., the Saints bolted to a 10-2 lead and never looked back.

Ellie Markwardt scored 12 points and had four steals for Mountain View. Zari Riley added eight points and 12 rebounds.

Panguitch (Utah) 26, Moapa Valley 23 — At Moapa Valley, Panguitch failed to score during the fourth quarter but hung on to beat the Pirates.

Caley Dunlap led Moapa Valley with six points.

West Wendover 71, Round Mountain 25 — At the Lund/White Pine Roundup, junior guard Danika Sharp scored a game-high 32 points to lead the Wolverines to the rout.

Aracelli Flores scored 11 and Estela Botello 10 for West Wendover, which led 24-9 at halftime.

Tana Berg scored eight points to lead the Knights.

4A/3A girls state roundup: Legacy, Canyon Springs ousted

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
