ROUNDUP: Gorman girls whip Bonanza, clinch Southwest title

Dannielle Diamant had 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead Bishop Gorman to an 82-59 home win over Bonanza on Monday.

The win clinched the Southwest League title for the Gaels.

Aaryn Ellenberg had 23 points and Chelsie Pitt 21 for Gorman. Yahindra Edwards added 11 points for the Gaels.

Shirley Pitts had 21 points and Christin Figgins 15 to lead the Bengals.

Spring Valley 50, Desert Oasis 32 — At Spring Valley, Chyna Wimberly had 21 points and 12 rebounds to help the Grizzlies down the Diamondbacks.

Destiny Thames added 15 points for Spring Valley, which took a 31-27 lead into the fourth quarter and pulled away.

Auburn Smith led Desert Oasis with 12 points.

Durango 56, Western 47 — At Durango, Mia Bell had 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists to lead the Trailblazers past the Warriors.

Cindy Klinholm added 13 points and Jasmine Suarez 11 for Durango.

Daresheoun Lee led Western with 18 points. Traci Parks and Michelle Simon each added 10 points.

Sierra Vista 59, Clark 21 — At Sierra Vista, the Mountain Lions held the Chargers to three second-half points in the win.

Kim Rouzer led four Sierra Vista players in double figures with 14 points. Nicolette Grigsby had 11 points and Jeanette Jackson and Teena Baxter each added 10 for the Mountain Lions.

Angelena Cook scored 10 points for Clark.

Virgin Valley 39, Lake Mead 35 — At Mesquite, Rachel Morris had 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots as the Bulldogs downed the Eagles.

Shelby Brotherson added 10 points for Virgin Valley.

Emily Dean led Lake Mead with 18 points.

Calvary Chapel 56, Sandy Valley 7 — At Tarkanian Middle School, Sammie Mann had 18 points and Marissa Bonnefin 11 as the Lions routed the Sidewinders.
