Markeisha Evans hit a fall-away jumper in the final 30 seconds of the second overtime Saturday to lift Legacy’s girls basketball team to a 45-43 win over Notre Dame Academy (Calif.) in the West Coast Holiday Festival in Ontario, Calif.
Tori Payne had 12 points, including a pair of free throws with 1.7 seconds left in the first overtime to allow the Longhorns to tie the Regal Gryphons and force the second overtime.
Leilani White added 10 points and 22 rebounds for Legacy.
Bonanza 56, Churchill County 25 — At Reno, Saniah Simpson tallied 16 points and five rebounds, and Trane’e Jenkins added 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Bengals topped the Greenwave in the Silver State Slam.
Alyssa Powers had 13 points and five steals, and Sianna Nelson grabbed 10 rebounds for Bonanza, which outscored Churchill County, 27-8 in the second half.
Cimarron-Memorial 47, Heritage (Calif.) 43 — At Riverside, Calif., Ikia Daniels had 14 points, and Chalon Henderson grabbed 15 rebounds to help the Spartans hold off the Patriots in the Lady Bear Classic.
Emily Cox added 12 points, and Taya Harper scored 11 for Cimarron.
Cox and Henderson each earned honorable mention all-tournament team accolades.
Fullerton (Calif.) 50, Sierra Vista 46 — At Anaheim, Calif., the Indians held off the Mountain Lions in the fifth-place game of the Lady Rebel Holiday Classic.
Melia Tadytin had 10 points and 16 rebounds, and Kennedy Nieves added 13 rebounds for Sierra Vista.
Calvary Chapel 45, Pahranagat Valley 20 — At Alamo, Phallen Nelson tallied 17 points, and the Lions grabbed leads of 13-0 after one quarter and 23-4 at the half on their way to a win over the Panthers.
Alexis Harris added 10 points for Calvary Chapel.
Kennedy Huntsman and Traci Strong each had five points for Pahranagat Valley.
Beaver (Utah) 40, Lincoln County 16 — At Cedar City, Utah, Hattie Snyder had 14 points, and Macail Wood added 11 points and 10 rebounds as the Beavers topped the Lynx in the Steve Hodson Classic.
