ROUNDUP: Clark beats Desert Oasis at buzzer in girls basketball

Angelena Cook drained a 3-pointer from the left side at the buzzer Thursday to help Clark’s girls basketball team nip visiting Desert Oasis, 45-42.

Tarah Murph had 16 points and 17 rebounds for the Chargers. Cook finished with 14 points, and Alicia Wilbert added 12 rebounds for the Chargers.

Alexus Caulk led the Diamondbacks with 17 points. Auburn Smith added 13 points for Desert Oasis.

Sierra Vista 50, Pahrump Valley 49 — At Pahrump Valley, Madinah Hennix scored on a layup with less than one second to play in overtime to give the visiting Mountain Lions the win over the Trojans.

Jeanette Jackson led Sierra Vista with 15 points, and Teena Baxter and Nicolette Grigsby each scored 13.

Kristi Daffer had 20 points and 20 rebounds to lead Pahrump.

Pahrump’s Casey Scheller made a free throw with less than one minute to play in regulation to force the overtime. Scheller finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Durango 72, Spring Valley 40 — At Spring Valley, Jasmine Suarez scored a game-high 22 points as the Trailblazers routed the Grizzlies.

Jasmine Thomas added 12 points, Mia Bell 11 and Cherelle Hicks 10 for Durango.

Chyna Wimberly led Spring Valley with 14 points.

Desert Pines 50, Las Vegas 24 — At Desert Pines, LaBrea Walker had a game-high 19 points to carry the Jaguars over the Wildcats.
Andrea Jefferson added 16 points for Desert Pines, which led 24-4 at the half.

Valley 44, Canyon Springs 37 — At Canyon Springs, Vanessa Corona scored 33 points to help Valley roll past Canyon Springs.

Skotasia Thomas scored 10 points for the Pioneers.

Rancho 59, Chaparral 41— At Rancho, the Rams had three players score in doubles figures to cruise to victory over Chaparral.

Stephanie Thompson led Rancho, with 12 of her team-high 17 points coming in the second half. Khalia Branch scored 14 points and Shayna Porter-Banks 13 for the Rams.

Desiree Pierce led the Cowboys with  20 points. Natriana Shorter added 10 points for Chaparral.

Bishop Gorman 76, Western 11 — At Gorman, the Gaels thumped the Warriors, who mustered only two points in the second, third and fourth quarters.

Aaryn Ellenberg scored 17 points to lead the Gaels. Yahindra Edwards added 16 points and Dannielle Diamant 15 for Gorman.
