ROUNDUP: Cheyenne powers past Desert Pines with 19-7 fourth-quarter run

Brenyatta Young paced Cheyenne with 15 points Friday, and the Desert Shields used a 19-7 run in the fourth quarter to put away visiting Desert Pines, 62-43.

Britnee Shaw added 14 points, and Hannah Tatum had seven points and 11 rebounds for Cheyenne.

LaBrea Walker scored 16 points for the Jaguars.

Panguitch (Utah) 46, Moapa Valley 40 — At Overton, Panguitch overcame a 19-7 first-quarter deficit to beat the Pirates.

Caley Dunlap and Shilo Parashonts each scored 12 points for Moapa Valley.

Kalani Norris led the Bobcats with 24 points.

Hurricane (Utah) 51, Virgin Valley 39 — At Hurricane, the Tigers earned a home win over the Bulldogs.

Rachel Morris scored 14 points and Madison Bowler supplied 13 for Virgin Valley.

Indian Springs 30, Laughlin 29 — At Indian Springs, the Thunderbirds trailed 10-1 after the first quarter, then rallied to take the lead and held on to edge the Cougars.

Alexxa Reinke led Indian Springs with 12 points.

Mountain View 33, Fairmont Prep (Calif.) 15 — At Anaheim Calif., the Saints allowed only one point in each of the first two quarters and held Fairmont Prep scoreless in the third quarter en route to an easy win in the Fairmont Prep Tournament.

Patrice Marshall had nine points, six steals and four rebounds for Mountain View.

Briana Marruffo had eight points and seven rebounds, and Zari Riley had six points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Saints.

West Wendover 47, Lund 40 — At Ely, Danika Sharp poured in 43 points to lead the Wolverines past Lund in the Lund/White Pine Warm-Up.

Eureka 45, West Wendover 44 — At Ely, Sharp scored 37, but a late 8-0 run by Eureka sent the Vandals past the Wolverines.
