ROUNDUP: Brantner posts triple-double in Basic rout

Kailai Brantner had 15 points, 11 assists and 10 steals Thursday to lead Basic’s girls basketball team to a 57-15 rout of visiting Sunrise Mountain.

Marquichea Burns added 18 points, eight rebounds, six steals and four blocks for Basic. Michaela Thomas added 10 points for the Wolves, who held Sunrise Mountain to two points in both the first and third quarters.

Canyon Springs 58, Palo Verde 55 — At Canyon Springs, Kenosha Wright scored 18 points and Skotasia Thomas added 17 to help the Pioneers hold off the Panthers.

Alyssa Amoruso tallied 19 points to lead Palo Verde, and Jasmin Kiley scored 14.

Centennial 86, Desert Pines 52 — At Desert Pines, Alexis Byrd had 27 points, and Ashley Klemz scored 22 as the Bulldogs routed the Jaguars.

Shannon Brown added 12 points for Centennial.

Desert Pines’ LaBrea Walker scored 22 points. Cydney Myles and Theresia Williams each had 10 points for the Jaguars.

Spring Valley 37, Del Sol 33 — At Del Sol, the Grizzlies led 14-1 after one quarter and held on to beat the Dragons.

Jessica Davis had 12 points to lead Spring Valley, and teammate Lauren Bugni added seven.

Kim Chischillie scored 10 points for Del Sol.

Bonanza 64, Eldorado 37 — At Eldorado, Alice Pitts scored 10 of her 18 points during the Bengals’ 24-7 second-quarter run as Bonanza downed Eldorado.

Alex Duncan scored 13, and Kathy Babin added 10 points for Bonanza.

Casey Bradshaw had 11 points for Eldorado.

Silverado 77, Community Charter (Calif.) 28 — At Silverado, Shea Collins scored all 22 of her points in the first half as the Skyhawks rolled to a 43-7 halftime lead and routed Community Charter.

Collins, who made six 3-pointers, also had six assists.

Alena Evans had 15 points, and Tae’lor Monroe and Diamond Wright each scored 12 points for Silverado.

Green Valley 77, Las Vegas 41 — At Green Valley, Sarah Pickus scored 22 points, and Jazmine Jarvis added 19 as the Gators cruised past the Wildcats.

Shavon Stevens contributed 18 points for Green Valley.

Courtney Ladson led the Wildcats with 22 points.

Liberty 66, Valley 23 — At Liberty, Daynice Cochran scored 14 of her 22 points in the first half and had 15 rebounds as the Patriots routed Valley.

Amanda Delgado added 16 points and four steals for Liberty, which led 35-11 at the half.

Christina Davis led the Vikings with nine points.

Tech 60, Rancho 34 — At Rancho, Kristena Wilson scored 18 points as Tech cruised past Rancho.

Mesha Phillips chipped in 17 points for the Roadrunners, and Julie Harless added 14 points.

Erica Johnson had eight points to lead Rancho.

Mountain View 59, Connelly (Calif.) 29 — At Anaheim, Calif., Patrice Marshall scored 20 points and Briana Marruffo added 18 as Mountain View defeated Connelly in the Fairmont Prep Tournament.

Panguitch (Utah) 52, Virgin Valley 30 — At Mesquite, Kalani Norris went 12-of-14 from the free-throw line and finished with 22 points as the Bobcats downed Virgin Valley.

Rachel Morris led the Bulldogs with eight points.

Indian Springs 56, The Meadows 17 — At Indian Springs, the Thunderbirds had four players in double figures the cruised past the Mustangs.

Kristina Espinoza led Indian Springs with 12 points. Tessa Lounsbury, Heather Thormahlen and Alexxa Reinke scored 10 apiece for the Thunderbirds.

Adelson School 33, Sandy Valley 28 — At Sandy Valley, Alexes Settle scored 12 points as the Lions beat the Sidewinders.

Elie Steinberg and Sueleika Blackwell each scored nine for Adelson.

Kristina Doty led Sandy Valley with 10 points.

4A/3A girls state roundup: Legacy, Canyon Springs ousted

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
