ROUNDUP: Beynon’s big night propels Pioneer girls past Coronado

Cherise Beynon piled up 19 points, 15 rebounds, seven steals and three assists Tuesday to help Canyon Springs’ girls basketball team to a 63-40 win over visiting Coronado.

Pearl Paulo added 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Shamiyah McNeal recorded 12 points, nine rebounds and five steals for the Pioneers, who led 10-1 after one quarter and 26-8 at the half.

Lakiya Yarber supplied 13 points for Canyon Springs.

Sofie Cruz led the Cougars with 11 points.

Chaparral 51, Moapa Valley 48 — At Chaparral, Tichina Savoy posted 17 points, six rebounds and five steals as the Cowboys edged the Pirates in overtime.

Mary Manjarrec scored 15 points for Chaparral, which had to rally in the fourth quarter after seeing its 22-12 halftime lead slip away.

Brianna Harding scored 14, and Ashley Noto added 11 points for Moapa Valley.

Rancho 45, Cimarron-Memorial 37 — At Rancho, Darje Martin scored 17 points to help lead the Rams past the Spartans.

Lakissa Martin and Jordan Williams each added nine points for the Rams.

Cimarron’s Breanna Williams led all scorers with 18 points.

Foothill 60, Valley 51 — At Valley, Tangi Ajeto scored 14 points to propel the Falcons to a victory over the Vikings.

Christina Nash had 12 points, and Bri Higgins scored nine for Foothill.

Tyricia Payne led Valley with 18 points, and teammate Kennedy Wharton supplied 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Faith Lutheran 38, Shadow Ridge 24 — At Faith Lutheran, Kelsey McCourt poured in 21 points as the Crusaders topped the Mustangs.

Jessica Forage added nine points for Faith Lutheran.

Jasmine Nicholson lead the Mustangs with eight points.

Green Valley 60, Eldorado 35 — At Eldorado, Jill Harland and Maggie Manwarren each tallied 14 points, and the Gators bolted to a 34-9 halftime lead en route to the win.

Angelica Mack scored 10 points for Green Valley.

Denisheun Jackson had 29 points for Eldorado.

Virgin Valley 50, Sunrise Mountain 45 — At Sunrise Mountain, Abbie Barnard scored 13 points, and Alora Bonner added 12 points as the Bulldogs edged the Miners.

Tiara Veal led Sunrise Mountain with 19 points.

Needles 58, Palo Verde (Calif.) 37 — At Blythe, Calif., Abby Chandler had 21 points, four assists and six steals to lead the Mustangs to the win.

Isabel Fernandez supplied 11 points and five steals for Needles, which pulled away with a 22-9 run in the third quarter.

Pahranagat Valley 44, Mountain View 28 — At Alamo, Kimberly Lewis scored 15 points and pulled down 18 rebounds, and older sister Halie Lewis tallied 14 points and six boards to help the Panthers defeat the Saints.

Kyla Mortensen grabbed 11 rebounds for Pahranagat Valley.

Brianna Maruffo had 17 points for Mountain View.
