ROUNDUP: Arbor View girls outlast Spartans in overtime

Janae Strode hit two free throws with one second left in regulation to force overtime Tuesday, and Arbor View’s girls basketball team went on to post a 64-55 win over visiting Cimarron-Memorial.

Strode finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds, and teammate Ariona Gill added 15 points. Dana Lewis grabbed 10 rebounds for the Aggies, who outscored Cimarron 12-3 in overtime.

Taya Harper led all scorers with 26 points for the Spartans.

Basic 38, Green Valley 35 — Jayla Brown had 11 points and 11 rebounds to help the Wolves edge the Gators.

Feti Sini hit a pair of free throws with 30 seconds to go to give the Wolves a four-point lead, and Basic held on.

Raevyn Allen added eight points and nine rebounds for Basic, which used a 10-4 third-quarter run to take a 23-16 lead into the fourth.

Maggie Manwarren had 12 points to pace Green Valley.

Desert Pines 65, Eldorado 62 — At Eldorado, Cydney Myles’ driving bucket with 22.9 seconds to play broke a 62-62 tie and gave the Jaguars the win over the Sundevils.

Myles was fouled on the play, but missed the ensuing free throw.

She did hit 1 of 2 free throws with 8.6 seconds left for the final margin.

Durango 53, Shadow Ridge 30 — At Shadow Ridge, Jazmine Chavez tallied 27 points as the Trailblazers cruised to a victory over the Mustangs.

Aubree Nish and Brandii Starks scored seven points each for Shadow Ridge.

Desert Oasis 49, Western 29 —
At Western, Sammi Tso tallied 22 points, and the Diamondbacks raced to a 30-7 halftime lead on their way to a win over the Warriors.

Ayla Rollins added 10 points for Desert Oasis.

Capricia Pierce had 19 points, and Destiny Gonzalez grabbed 11 rebounds for Western.

Canyon Springs 61, Cheyenne 42 — At Cheyenne, Cherise Beynon scored 23 points to help the Pioneers defeat the Desert Shields.

Alexia Thrower added 21 points for Canyon Springs, which broke the game open with 23 points in the third quarter.

Noni Barree led Cheyenne with 17 points.

Liberty 82, Las Vegas 37 —
At Liberty, Paris Strawther tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds, and teammate Jazmin O’Bannon supplied 10 points and 11 rebounds to help the Patriots to an easy win over the Wildcats.

Sydney Clark added 16 points, and Tali Pitt scored 13 points for Liberty, which got 10 rebounds from Jamellia Clark.

Matti Ventling scored 16 points to lead Las Vegas, which got 13 points from Shomari Harris.

Legacy 54, Mojave 23 —
At Legacy, Estella Rodriguez scored 10 points to help the Longhorns roll past the Rattlers.

Tori Payne had nine points and 12 rebounds for Legacy, which led 25-8 at halftime.

Ayanna Robinson led Mojave with eight points.

Chaparral 66, Tech 22 — At Chaparral, Michelle Torres scored 17 points to help the Cowboys cruise past the Roadrunners.

Octavia Gray added 14 points, and Tichina Savoy scored 12 for Chaparral, which held Tech to six points in the first half.

Carla Valle led the Roadrunners with 10 points.

Virgin Valley 59, Sunrise Mountain 39 — At Mesquite, Abbie Barnard scored 15 points to help the Bulldogs defeat the Miners.

Nikki Arquette and Kourtney Metzger each added 12 points for Virgin Valley.

Lisa Carter scored 11 points, and Brittany Veal had 10 points to lead Sunrise Mountain.

Boulder City 52, Moapa Valley 35 —
At Boulder City, Whitney Barlow scored 20 points to lead the Eagles over the Pirates.

Alyssa Ybarra and Katlyn Daly had nine points apiece for Boulder City, which used a 21-6 second quarter burst to build a 34-19 halftime lead.

Kimberly Lewis scored 14 points for Moapa Valley.

Calvary Chapel 55, Laughlin 29 — At Calvary Chapel, Phallen Nelson tallied 20 points, and the Lions grabbed a 37-7 halftime lead on their way to an easy win over the Cougars.

Chloe Hammond added 13 points for Calvary Chapel.

Diana Durazo, Patricia Valdez and Cassie Beggs each had seven points for Laughlin.

Beatty 33, The Meadows 31 — At The Meadows, Melynda Gross had 13 points and the Hornets outscored the Mustangs 14-6 in the fourth quarter to grab the victory.

Missy Siegel paced The Meadows with 13 points.
