ROUNDUP: Amoruso clinches Panthers’ win over Pioneers at foul line

Alyssa Amoruso sank two free throws with 11 seconds left Thursday to lift Palo Verde’s girls basketball team to a 42-40 win at Canyon Springs.

Lily Tapusoa led Palo Verde with 10 points, and Jasmin Kiley supplied seven points for the Panthers, who rallied after failing to score in the first quarter and trailing 19-8 at the half.

Kenosha Wright and Diamond Broadus each had 13 points for Canyon Springs.

Coronado 67, Sierra Vista 56 — At Sierra Vista, Sofie Cruz scored 20 points as the Cougars built a 35-21 halftime lead and cruised past the Mountain Lions.

Caitlin Trost added 11 points, and Nicole Ruffino scored 10 for Coronado.

Jeanette Jackson paced Sierra Vista with 27 points, and teammate Jasmine Suarez supplied 12 points.

Green Valley 44, Arbor View 21 — At Green Valley, Mackenzie Butler tallied 10 points, 10 assists, six steals and five rebounds to lead te Gators past the Aggies.

Angelica Mack scored 12 points, and Shavon Stevens added 10 points for Green Valley.

Valley 57, Cheyenne 42 — At Cheyenne, Brianna Johnson scored 17 points to lead the Vikings past the Desert Shields.

Estelle Wilson added 12 points for Valley, which used a 17-6 third-quarter run to break open the game.

Hannah Tatum had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead Cheyenne.

Legacy 54, Las Vegas 46 — At Las Vegas High, Shakita Cox scored 14 points and Candice McFarland 13, and the Longhorns used a 34-14 run in the middle quarters to down the Wildcats.

Shomari Harris paced the Wildcats with 15 points, and Matti Ventling contributed 14 points.

Del Sol 47, Western 39 — At Western, Kim Chischillie scored 11 points, and the Dragons used a 31-15 first-half advantage to get past the Warriors.

Jermara Watkins added nine points for Del Sol.

Brittany Moreland led Western with 13 points.

Moapa Valley 40, Sunrise Mountain 34 — At Sunrise Mountain, Ashley Noto scored 16 points, and the Pirates jumped out to a 25-11 halftime lead before holding off the Miners.

Tiara Veal scored 16 points, and Jasmine Jones added 10 points for Sunrise Mountain.

Boulder City 51, Rancho 38 — At Boulder City, Karlee Koopman scored 13 points to lead the Eagles over the Rams.

Sylvia Combs added 11 points to help Boulder City, which pulled away in the third quarter.

Virgin Valley 61, Eldorado 37 — At Mesquite, Rachel Morris scored 21 points to help the Bulldogs beat the Sundevils.

Virgin Valley outscored Eldorado 37-18 in the middle quarters to pull away.

Whitney (Cailf.) 63, Mountain View 21 — At Anaheim, Calif., Briana Marruffo had 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the Saints’ loss to Whitney in the Husky Invitational.

Patrice Marshall added seven points and four assists for Mountain View.

Lincoln County 42, Pahranagat Valley 38 — At Alamo, Tia Florence scored 16 points to help the Lynx beat the Panthers.

Nicole Florence added 11 points and Melanie Florence 10 for Lincoln County, which used a 15-2 run in the third quarter to pull away.

Halie Lewis led Pahranagat Valley with 14 points, and Dakota Day scored 11 for the Panthers.

Adelson School 35, Sandy Valley 23 — At Sandy Valley, Alexes Settle had 12 points, 17 rebounds and two blocked shots to lead the Lions past the Sidewinders.

Elie Steinberg added 13 points, six steals and five rebounds for Adelson.

Christianna Fraley scored 10 points for Sandy Valley.
