GIRLS BASKETBALL: Thrower’s big night lifts Pioneers by Faith Lutheran

Alexia Thrower had 28 points and 11 rebounds Friday to help Canyon Springs’ girls basketball team to a 57-38 win over visiting Faith Lutheran.

Aleza Bell added nine points for the Pioneers, who led 36-32 entering the fourth quarter.

Madison Bocobo led the Crusaders with 12 points.

Rancho 52, Las Vegas 47 — At Rancho, Tatianna Lee scored 34 points to help the Rams hold off the Wildcats.

Lee hit 8 of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter to hold the Wildcats at bay.

Adrina Collins had 21 points, and teammate Bianca Matlock scored 12 for Las Vegas.

Clark 30, Pahrump Valley 25 — At Pahrump, Kara Long and Marieka Dent each had seven points to lead the Chargers past the Trojans.

Bethany Calvert led Pahrump with eight points.

Legacy 56, Silverado 48 — At Silverado, TaEha Pankey scored 17 points to lead the Longhorns past the Skyhawks.

Allanah Subira added 14 points, and Rory Carter scored 10 for Legacy, which jumped out to a 12-6 first-quarter lead.

Japrea Edwards scored 13 points for Silverado, which also got 12 points from Deja Siaki.

Centennial 68, Palo Verde 24 — At Centennial, Justice Ethridge had 17 points, and the Bulldogs cruised past the Panthers.

Melanie Isbell added 10 points for Centennial, which opened the game on a 30-8 run.

Paulina Silcox led Palo Verde with 16 points.

Green Valley 66, Dixie (Utah) 41 — At St. George, Utah, Brooke Haney scored 14 points to lead the Gators by the Flyers.

Ellee Barton added 12 points, and Gwen Garcia scored 11 for Green Valley, which led 38-21 at the half.

Taylor Whitson paced Dixie with 10 points.

Spring Valley 58, Wasatch (Utah) 41 — At St. George, Utah, Essence Booker had 25 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and six steals to help the Grizzlies top the Wasps.

Kayla Harris added 22 points, seven rebounds and eight steals for Spring Valley, which led 14-4 after one quarter.

Agassi Prep 75, Calvary Chapel 24 — At Agassi Prep, Sharmayne Finley had 16 points, five rebounds and four assists to help the Stars rout the Lions.

Azaria Conway-Wilson added 16 points, and Destiny Rover scored 11 for Agassi Prep, which led 26-4 after one quarter.

Sara Hernandez and Malia Lee each had 10 points for Calvary Chapel.

Laughlin 52, The Meadows 28 — At The Meadows, the Cougars used a 22-12 second-quarter burst to pull away from the Mustangs.

Rachel Siegel scored 14 points, and teammate Marcella Peek had 14 rebounds for The Meadows.

Sandy Valley 34, Baker (Calif.) 27 — At Baker, Calif., the Sidewinders defeated the Braves.
