GIRLS BASKETBALL: Thrower scores 29, Pioneers top Quest

Alexia Thrower poured in 29 points Monday to help Canyon Springs’ girls basketball team to a 66-51 home win over Quest Academy.

Dre’una Edwards added 14 points for the Pioneers, who outscored the Knights 35-23 in the middle two quarters.

Brianna Osorio had 18 points for Quest Academy.

Bonanza 51, Pahrump Valley 44 — At Bonanza, Brooklyn Savage led all scorers with 17 points as the Bengals topped the Trojans.

Alexis Harris and Alyssa Powers added nine points apiece for Bonanza, which led 25-15 at halftime.

Alyssa Murphy and Shayla Dance each scored 11 points for Pahrump.

Virgin Valley 48, Western 38 — At Western, Spencer Green scored 12 points to lead the Bulldogs by the Warriors.

Virgin Valley grabbed a 32-17 halftime lead, but the Warriors closed to within two points in the fourth quarter before a 10-0 run put the game away.

Destiny Gonzalez scored 24 points, and Capricia Pierce added 11 points for Western.

Basic 48, Boulder City 34 — At Basic, Jayla Brown had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Wolves past the Eagles.

Dana Deloney added 14 points for Basic.

Katlyn Daly scored 16 points, and Megan Morton added 12 points for Boulder City.

Rancho 38, Shadow Ridge 25 — At Shadow Ridge, LaKissa Martin had 12 points to lead the Rams by the Mustangs.

Maureen Macato and Tatianna Lee each scored eight points for Rancho, which led 17-7 at halftime.

Shadow Ridge’s Assana King had eight points.

Arbor View 57, Desert Pines 20 — At Desert Pines, Ariona Gill scored 19 points to lead the Aggies past the Jaguars.

Katrina Nordstrom added 10 points for Arbor View.

Deisy Lozano and Jordan Bailey each scored seven points to lead Desert Pines. See’Airrah Evans-Collins pulled down 14 rebounds for the Jaguars.

Cimarron-Memorial 48, Tech 16 — At Cimarron, Shauntel Efferson had 14 points to help the Spartans down the Roadrunners.

Zaquae Downton added 10 points for Cimarron, which led 22-7 at halftime.

Tech’s Ginalyn Biano had five points.

Cheyenne 46, Legacy 39 — At Cheyenne, Bria Buchanan and Kaylan Finley each scored 11 points to help the Desert Shields top the Longhorns.

C’Aree Stevenson led Legacy with 12 points.

Coral Academy 27, Indian Springs 24 — At Indian Springs, the Falcons grabbed a 16-8 halftime lead and held off the Thunderbirds.

Kayla Noyes scored eight points to lead Indian Springs.
