GIRLS BASKETBALL: Sierra Vista wins tournament opener in Anaheim

Kayla Smith scored 16 points Saturday to lead Sierra Vista's girls basketball team to a 59-18 win over the Savanna (Calif.) junior varsity in the Lady Rebel Holiday Classic in Anaheim, Calif.

Kimayah Love added 10 points for the Mountain Lions, who outscored Savanna 31-6 in the second half.

Bishop's School (Calif.) 74, Bishop Gorman 69 — At La Jolla, Calif., Destiny Littleton was 20-for-24 from the free-throw line and had 47 points as the Knights topped the Gaels in overtime in the So Cal Holiday Prep Classic.

Alessandra Aguirre added 16 points for Bishop's, which trailed 57-53 entering the fourth quarter.

Madison Washington had 17 points, and Raychel Stanley scored 15 for Gorman, which made 5 of 7 free throws as a team. Skylar Jackson and Megan Jacobs each added 12 points, and Quinece Hatcher scored 11 for the Gaels.

Murrieta Valley (Calif.) 55, Boulder City 38 — At Murrieta, Calif., Gabriella Stoll had 14 points to lead the Nighthawks by the Eagles in the Nighthawk Classic.

Breanna Bilton added 13 points for Murrieta Valley, which led 36-21 at the half.

Megan Morton had 19 points, and Julia Worrall added 16 rebounds for Boulder City.
