GIRLS BASKETBALL: Rael’s game-winner helps Rattlers nip Trojans

Rayena Rael hit the winning basket with 1.8 seconds left Tuesday to lift Mojave’s girls basketball team to a 28-27 win at Pahrump Valley.

Rael scored 13 points, and Darria Gray added 12 points for the Rattlers, who trailed 19-12 entering the fourth quarter.

Shayla Dance had 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Jillian Smith pulled down 13 rebounds for the Trojans.

Virgin Valley 39, Boulder City 37 — At Mesquite, Abbie Barnard scored 21 points to help the Bulldogs edge the Eagles.

Becca Bramlage added six points and seven rebounds for Virgin Valley, which sealed it with key free throws in the final minute.

Whitney Barlow led Boulder City with 14 points.

Bishop Gorman 67, Legacy 42 — At Gorman, Raychel Stanley scored 20 points to lead the Gaels to a win over the Longhorns.

Maddison Washington added 16 points, and Skylar Jackson scored 11 for Gorman, which cruised to a 33-16 halftime lead.

Justice Akins had 15 points, and Carolina Rahkonen scored 12 for Legacy.

Bonanza 47, Cimarron-Memorial 27 — At Bonanza, Tanganika Hunt had 25 points and six steals to lead the Bengals past the Spartans.

Sianna Nelson grabbed 17 rebounds, and Brooklyn Savage added nine points for Bonanza.

Zaquae Downton and Celine Acfalle each scored eight points to lead Cimarron.

Centennial 63, Desert Oasis 21 — At Desert Oasis, Tramina Jordan scored 18 points, and the Bulldogs outscored the Diamondbacks 42-6 in the middle quarters en route to the win.

Teirra Hicks added 13 points, and Karina Brandon scored 12 for Centennial, which secured at least a share of the Southwest League title.

Western 47, Cheyenne 35 — At Cheyenne, Destiny Gonzalez scored 20 points to lead the Warriors past the Desert Shields.

Capricia Pierce added 14 points for Western, which outscored Cheyenne 29-19 in the second half.

Amanee Buckins tallied 17 points for Cheyenne.

Desert Pines 48, Chaparral 31 — At Desert Pines, Chrystian Myles scored 15 points to guide the Jaguars to a win over the Cowboys.

Jordan Bailey added 12 points for Desert Pines, which secured the Sunrise League’s No. 4 seed for next week’s Division I-A Southern Region playoffs.

Marcia Hawkins led Chaparral with 20 points.

Sunrise Mountain 57, Moapa Valley 39 — At Sunrise Mountain, Brittany Veal had 16 points, seven steals, five rebounds and five assists as the Miners topped the Pirates.

Lisa Carter added 12 points, and Deanna Manning grabbed 11 rebounds for Sunrise Mountain.

Kinlee Marshall led Moapa Valley with 13 points.

Calvary Chapel 68, Laughlin 41 — At Calvary Chapel, Phallen Nelson had 22 points, 10 steals and five rebounds as the Lions downed the Cougars.

Lianne Reyes had 30 points for Calvary Chapel, which outscored Laughlin, 35-11 in the second half.

Cassie Beggs had 18 points for Laughlin.

The Meadows 51, Agassi Prep 39 — At The Meadows, Delaney Gosse scored 16 points, and the Mustangs outscored the Stars 32-18 in the second half en route to the win.

Hana Resch added 10 points for The Meadows.

Javoulaee Green had 17 points for Agassi Prep.
