GIRLS BASKETBALL: Morton’s double-double helps Eagles top Miners

Megan Morton had 20 points and 10 rebounds Friday to help Boulder City’s girls basketball team rout visiting Sunrise Mountain, 61-23.

Katlyn Daly added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Eagles, who used a 14-2 second-quarter run to build a 28-8 halftime lead.

Ayla Diaz led the Miners with eight points.

Sierra Vista 42, Pahrump Valley 33 — At Pahrump, Danielle Morrow scored 12 points to lead the Mountain Lions by the Trojans.

Kelsey Jimenez added 10 points for Sierra Vista.

Shayla Dance led Pahrump with 14 points.

Desert Pines 49, Tech 25 — At Desert Pines, See’Airrah Evans-Collins had 11 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Jaguars past the Roadrunners.

Jordan Bailey also had 11 points for Desert Pines.

Centennial 72, Warren (Calif.) 49 — At Phoenix, Justice Ethridge had 19 points to help the Bulldogs down the Bears in the Nike Tournament of Champions.

Karina Brandon added 13 points and nine rebounds, and Alex Dockery scored 11 for Centennial, which led 43-26 at the half.

Denise Gonzalez had 12 points for Warren.

Horizon Christian (Calif.) 69, Quest Academy 47 — At Phoenix, Dijonai Carrington scored 25 points to help the Panthers down the Knights in the Nike Tournament of Champions.

Nyjeeiah Ganan added 17 points for Horizon Christian, which used a late third-quarter run to pull away.

Brianna Osorio paced Quest with 21 points.

Tolleson Union (Ariz.) 58, Coronado 39 — At Phoenix, the Wolverines used a 25-9 second-quarter run to top the Cougars in the Nike Tournament of Champions.

Kayla Watterson had 10 points and eight rebounds, and Samantha Green added 10 points for Coronado.

Vanden (Calif.) 66, Bishop Gorman 62 — At Phoenix, the Vikings edged the Gaels in the Nike Tournament of Champions.

Madison Washington had 18 points, and Raychel Stanley scored 17 for Gorman, which got 11 points from Skylar Jackson.

Laughlin 47, Lake Mead 20 — At Laughlin, Kayla Nelson had 17 points to lead the Cougars past the Eagles.

Precious Osuna added 12 points for Laughlin.

Marybeth Bruninga led Lake Mead with eight points.

Needles 51, Agassi Prep 42 — At Agassi Prep, Jane Antone scored 22 points to lead the Mustangs over the Stars.

Brenna Chavez added 13 points for Needles.

Destiny Rover had 11 points, and teammate Azaria Conway-Wilson scored 10 for Agassi Prep.

Lincoln County 60, Calvary Chapel 20 — At Panaca, Kaitlin Cheeney scored 10 points to lead the Lynx over the Lions.

Savannah Harr added nine points, and Kristal Jackson had 11 rebounds for Lincoln County.

Jenna Mace led Calvary Chapel with 10 points.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
