GIRLS BASKETBALL: Longhorns roll past Carson

Estella Rodriguez and Carolina Rahkonen each scored 10 points Friday to lead Legacy’s girls basketball team to a 62-38 win over Carson in the opening round of the West Coast Festival in Los Angeles.

Savannah Smith had 15 points for the Senators.

Etiwanda (Calif.) 75, Legacy 25 — At Los Angeles, the Eagles rolled past the Longhorns in the second round of the West Coast Festival.

Justice Akins led Legacy with eight points.

Mission Hills (Calif.) 70, Bishop Gorman 65 — At San Diego, Khayla Rooks had 26 points, and the Grizzlies drained 12 3-pointers in a win over the Gaels in the So Cal Holiday Prep Classic.

Alex Israel hit six 3-pointers and had 22 points for Mission Hills.

Raychel Stanley led Gorman with 20 points. Maddison Washington scored 16, and Skylar Jackson had 11 points for the Gaels.

La Quinta (Calif.) 50, Sierra Vista 33 — At Anaheim, Calif., Sandra Le scored 12 points to lift the Blackhawks over the Mountain Lions in the Lady Rebel Holiday Classic.

Katie Tran added 10 points for La Quinta, which held a 25-17 halftime lead.

Kennedy Nieves paced Sierra Vista with 11 points.

Redlands East Valley (Calif.) 56, Boulder City 45 — At Murrieta, Calif., Natalie Ruhl scored 15 of her 21 points in the first half as the Wildcats beat the Eagles in the Nighthawk Classic.

Brianna Bishop had 15 points for Redlands East Valley.

Megan Morton scored 16 points, and Whitney Barlow added 13 points for Boulder City, which led 24-21 at halftime.
