GIRLS BASKETBALL: Lauren Calo, Shadow Ridge hold off Valley

Lauren Calo scored 19 points on Monday as the Shadow Ridge girls basketball team held on for a 45-42 road victory over Valley.

Alexa Martins added 13 points for the Mustangs, who led 33-26 after three quarters.

Sondra Scroggins led Valley with 18 points, and teammate Almond Slayton scored 11.

Virgin Valley 38, Western 34 — At Western, Bernice Fiso had 10 points as the Bulldogs held off the Warriors.

Emma Barnum and Savannah Price each added eight points for Virgin Valley.

Ja’Moni Brown had 16 points for Western, which outscored the Bulldogs 12-1 in the fourth quarter but couldn’t complete the comeback.

Legacy 64, Desert Pines 39 — At Desert Pines, TaEha Pankey scored 19 points to lead the Longhorns in a rout over the Jaguars.

Rory Carter added 10 points for Legacy, which led 32-18 at the half.

See’Airrah Collins led Desert Pines with 17 points and nine rebounds. Trisa Butler scored 11 for the Jaguars.

Desert Oasis 65, Las Vegas 29 — At Desert Oasis, Mikala Kirby and Ashlynn Sharp each scored 13 points to lead the Diamondbacks over the Wildcats.

Ahmaya Smith added 12 points for Desert Oasis.

Teconna Dyer and Jasmine Perez each scored nine points to lead Las Vegas.

Bishop Gorman 76, Sierra Vista 41 — At Sierra Vista, Skylar Jackson led four Gaels in double figures with 12 points as they routed the Mountain Lions.

Gorman’s Quinece Hatcher, Caira Young and Samantha Coleman each scored 10 points.

Sierra Vista’s Shania Harper led all scorers with 14 points, and Iymoni Burrell scored 13 for the Mountain Lions.

Needles 61, Mohave Accelerated (Ariz.) 16 — At Needles, California, Jane Antone had 19 points to lead the Mustangs over the Patriots.

Paige Murch had 14 points, and Preslee Murch scored 11 for Needles
