GIRLS BASKETBALL: Kaitlyn Anderson leads Moapa Valley over Boulder City

Kaitlyn Anderson scored 14 points as Moapa Valley’s girls basketball team to a 53-32 road win over Boulder City on Friday.

Lainey Cornwall added 13 points for the Pirates, who connected on eight 3-pointers. Moapa Valley will be the Class 3A Sunrise League’s No. 2 playoff seed.

Keely Alexander scored 10 points to lead the Eagles, who earned the league’s No. 3 seed.

Bishop Gorman 57, Durango 11 — At Durango, Quinece Hatcher led all scorers with 11 points as the Gaels routed the Trailblazers.

Shaira Young scored 10 points for Gorman, which led 31-5 at the half and outscored Durango 16-0 in the third quarter.

Laughlin 35, Calvary Chapel 31 — At Laughlin, the Cougars rallied in the fourth quarter to top the Lions and secure a playoff berth.

Lori Morgon led Laughlin with seven points, and the Cougars outscored Calvary Chapel 17-9 in the fourth quarter.

Calvary Chapel’s Malia Lee led all scorers with 14 points, and Kaitlyn Harris scored 11 points for the Lions.

The Meadows 42, Lake Mead 39 — At The Meadows, Marcella Peek had 12 points, 21 rebounds and 12 blocked shots as the Mustangs edged the Eagles.

Rachel Siegel had 16 points, 12 rebounds and six assists for The Meadows, and teammate Talia Steinwald had 16 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Steinwald also hit four key free throws down the stretch to key the victory.

Pahranagat Valley 53, Beaver Dam 27 — At Alamo, the Panthers defeated the Diamondbacks.

Tonopah 59, Word of Life 24 — At Tonopah, the Muckers rolled over the Eagles.

Round Mountain 47, Beatty 29 — At Beatty, the Knights defeated the Hornets.
