GIRLS BASKETBALL: Johnson’s layup gives Mustangs victory over the Grizzlies

Jaylan Johnson hit the game-winning layup just before the final buzzer Tuesday to lift Shadow Ridge’s girls basketball team to a 36-34 win over visiting Spring Valley.

Jadah Preston had eight points, and Johnson scored seven for the Mustangs.

Shania Davis scored 13 points for Spring Valley.

Coronado 60, Del Sol 47 — At Coronado, Samantha Green and Dajah Washington scored 14 points apiece to lead the Cougars past the Dragons.

Skylar Feldman added 11 points for Coronado, which used a 23-9 third-quarter run to take command.

Sayanna Roy led Del Sol with 20 points, and teammate Alina Marruffo added 10 points.

Valley 56, Silverado 27 — At Valley, Gabrielle Cabanero racked up 19 points as the Vikings topped the Skyhawks.

Kennedy Wharton supplied 14 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists for Valley.

Deja Siaki led Silverado with eight points.

Arbor View 50, Palo Verde 32 — At Palo Verde, Ariona Gill scored 17 points to lead the Aggies past the Panthers.

Dana Lewis scored 13 points to help Arbor View, which opened the game on a 7-0 run and led the rest of the way.

Brooklyn Cruz led Palo Verde with 13 points.

Foothill 76, Eldorado 47 — At Foothill, Kelsey McFarland poured in 26 points to lead the Falcons by the Sundevils.

Taylor Turney added 23 points, and Gabby Doxtator scored 12 for Foothill, which led 40-17 at the half.

Deasia Walker had 17 points, and DeNisheun Jackson scored 16 for Eldorado.

Clark 50, Mojave 38 — At Mojave, Bobbi Floyd had 22 points to lead the Chargers over the Rattlers.

Karlicia Stroughter added nine points for Clark, which got eight points apiece from Monique Daniels and Ci’Quadya Belser.

Dallas Hawkins had 12 points, and Rayena Rael scored 10 to lead Mojave.

Durango 60, Sierra Vista 33 — At Durango, Brittany Romo and Jazmin Chavez each had 18 points to lead the Trailblazers to an easy win over the Mountain Lions.

Taylor Gray and Aylin Ponce added eight points apiece for Durango.

Kennedy Nieves supplied 12 points to lead Sierra Vista.

Liberty 60, Basic 23 — At Liberty, Paris Strawther had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Jazmin O’Bannon added 10 points and eight rebounds as the Patriots cruised by the Wolves.

Kealy Brown supplied 10 points and six steals for Liberty, which led 38-12 at halftime.

Jayla Brown scored 11 points, and Dana Deloney had 10 points for Basic.

Green Valley 73, Las Vegas 32 — At Green Valley, Maggie Manwarren finished with 18 points and four assists as the Gators cruised past the Wildcats.

Rianna Rudolph added 12 points, four assists and four steals, and Ellee Barton posted nine points and six rebounds for Green Valley, which limited Las Vegas to two points in the first quarter and led 42-8 at the half.

Lincoln County 44, Calvary Chapel 38 — At Panaca, Jaycee Wadsworth had 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Jillyn Katschke had six of her eight points in the fourth quarter as the Lynx rallied to defeat the Lions.

Kayla Mathews scored all seven of her points in the second half and added nine rebounds for Lincoln County, which trailed 25-18 at the half before outscoring Calvary Chapel 13-5 in the third quarter. Tanji Tibbitts finished with 10 boards for the Lynx.

Calvary Chapel’s Phallen Nelson scored 18 of her game-high 21 points in the first half.

The Meadows 59, Indian Springs 24 — At The Meadows, Bailey Gosse had 15 points, and the Mustangs built leads of 34-14 at the half and 49-14 after three quarters on their way to an easy win over the Thunderbirds.

Anjali Daulat added 12 points for The Meadows.

Baylee McCormick had nine points for Indian Springs.

Agassi Prep 39, Lake Mead 33 — At Lake Mead, Jada Smith had 14 points to lead the Stars by the Eagles.

Shannon Regan had 12 points, and Savannah Schmidt scored 10 for Lake Mead.

Needles 43, Mountain View 32 — At Mountain View, Demi Limon scored 16 points, and the Mustangs grabbed an early 12-3 lead on their way to a win over the Saints.

Caitlyn Courtwright added 11 points for Needles.

Rose Adkins led Mountain View with 21 points.
