GIRLS BASKETBALL: Jacobs helps Gaels reach SoCal tournament semifinals

Megan Jacobs scored 22 points Monday to help Bishop Gorman’s girls basketball team advance to the semifinals of the SoCal Holiday Prep Classic with a 77-41 win over Helix (Calif.) in San Diego.

Madison Washington had 16 points, and Raychel Stanley added 12 points for the Gaels, who led 48-22 at the half. Gorman also got 10 points from Alaysia Robinson.

Camryn Owens led Helix with nine points.

Foothill 67, Serra (Calif.) 64 — At San Diego, Taylor Turney scored seven of her 24 points in overtime to lift the Falcons by Serra in the SoCal Holiday Prep Classic.

Gabby Doxtator added 13 points for Foothill.

Monique Smith led Serra with 19 points.

Valley View (Calif.) 55, Boulder City 33 — At Murrieta Valley, Calif., Megan Morton scored 13 points in Boulder City’s loss to Valley View.

Alyssa Ybarra added nine points for Boulder City, which trailed 26-18 at halftime.

Tatyana McFarland scored 17 points for Valley View, which got 11 points apiece from RyLeigh Long and Deja Wright.

Sierra Vista 53, Bolsa Grande (Calif.) 39 — At Anaheim, Calif., Iymoni Burrell had 20 points to lead the Mountain Lions by the Matadors.

Juliana Asa added eight points for Sierra Vista, which led 33-19 at halftime.

Jessica Tran and Han Bui each scored 14 points for Bolsa Grande.
