GIRLS BASKETBALL: Hawkins, Cowboys top host Eagles

Marcia Hawkins poured in 23 points Tuesday as Chaparral’s girls basketball team moved into a tie for first place in the Sunrise League with a 49-43 win at Boulder City.

Taij Criss-Felton added 12 points for the Cowboys, who are tied with Boulder City at 11-2 in league play. Each team has one game remaining.

Megan Morton had 18 points, and Katlyn Daly scored 13 for the Eagles.

Cheyenne 45, Clark 41 — At Cheyenne, Alexcia Weatherly scored 13 points, and Bria Buchanan added 12 points and eight rebounds as the Desert Shields got by the Chargers.

Kaylan Finley supplied 10 points, and Da’Vione Lomax pulled down 11 rebounds for Cheyenne.

Bobbi Floyd scored 27 points for Clark.

Virgin Valley 43, Desert Pines 40 — At Desert Pines, Spencer Green scored 15 points to help the Bulldogs edge the Jaguars.

Emma Barnum added 10 points for Virgin Valley, which outscored Desert Pines 31-22 in the middle quarters.

Chrystian Myles scored 17 points, and See’Airrah Collins-Evans supplied eight points and 17 rebounds for Desert Pines.

Palo Verde 58, Shadow Ridge 43 — At Palo Verde, Paulina Silcox scored 19 of her 32 points in the second half to help the Panthers pull away from the Mustangs.

Marcie Goldberg added eight points for Palo Verde, which led only 21-17 at the half.

Assana King led Shadow Ridge with 16 points.

Spring Valley 61, Western 49 — At Western, Kayla Harris poured in 30 points to power the Grizzlies past the Warriors.

Essence Booker scored 11 points for Spring Valley, which outscored Western 29-19 in the middle quarters.

Destiny Gonzalez scored 33 points to pace Western.

Sunrise Mountain 44, Del Sol 39 — At Del Sol, Tayaa Pratt and Nina Carpenter each scored 10 points to help the Miners edge the Dragons.

Tyrah Lee added nine points for Sunrise Mountain, which rallied from a 22-20 halftime deficit.

Astrid Rodriguez led Del Sol with 12 points.

Mojave 39, Pahrump Valley 30 — At Pahrump, Keyara Lemon scored 15 points to help the Rattlers hold off the Trojans.

RayEna Rael added 11 points for Mojave, which trailed 12-11 at the half.

Jill Smith had nine points for Pahrump.

Bishop Gorman 83, Durango 61 — At Gorman, Raychel Stanley scored 22 points, and Madison Washington had 16 points to lead the Gaels past the Trailblazers.

Madison Ulrey added 12 points for Gorman, which got 11 points apiece from Skylar Jackson and Alaysia Robinson.

Aylin Ponce scored 19 points, and Brittany Romo had 17 points for Durango, which got 12 points from Jazmin Chavez.

Faith Lutheran 64, Sierra Vista 21 — At Faith Lutheran, Haley Vinson scored 18 points to lead the Crusaders to an easy win over the Mountain Lions.

Bobbi Tharaldson had 12 points, and Morgan Hill added 10 points for Faith Lutheran.

Moapa Valley 41, Tech 21 — At Overton, Summer Evans led a balanced attack with 10 points as the Pirates topped the Roadrunners.

Matilda Thompson and Emily Mills had nine points apiece for Moapa Valley, which led 21-8 at halftime.

Sydney Stanton led Tech with eight points.

Mountain View 45, Lake Mead 26 — At Lake Mead, Kiley Murphy scored 21 points to help the Saints to a win over the Eagles.

Rose Adkins had eight points for Mountain View, which led 31-14 at halftime.

Savannah Schmidt led Lake Mead with 18 points.

Sandy Valley 61, Adelson School 39 — At Adelson, Esmerelda Solano-Sanchez had 17 points as the Sidewinders pulled away from the Lions.

Lauren Cripe and Jacinda Fansher each added 16 points for Sandy Valley, which led 23-8 after one quarter.

Tamar Tecktiel led Adelson with 22 points.

Round Mountain 39, Tonopah 36 — At Round Mountain, the Knights edged the Muckers.
