GIRLS BASKETBALL: Gonzalez, Warriors down Sierra Vista

Destiny Gonzalez poured in 26 points Tuesday to lead Western's girls basketball team to a 50-34 win over visiting Sierra Vista.

Capricia Pierce chipped in eight points for the Warriors, who used a 20-4 run in the second quarter to take control.

Iymoni Burrell led the Mountain Lions with 14 points.

Virgin Valley 56, Del Sol 27 — At Mesquite, Spencer Green scored 13 points to lead the Bulldogs to an easy win over the Dragons.

Briana Todd added 10 points for Virgin Valley, which led 33-15 at halftime.

Ingrid Zarate scored 10 points for Del Sol.

Foothill 46, Las Vegas 28 — At Foothill, Kaylee Hall scored 13 points, and Kylie Vint added 11 points as the Falcons beat the Wildcats.

Rae Burrell contributed eight rebounds and four blocked shots for Foothill, which bolted to a 19-3 first quarter lead.

Armonnie Byrd scored 10 points for Las Vegas.

Shadow Ridge 59, Bonanza 22 — At Bonanza, Lauryn Calo scored 18 points as the Mustangs routed the Bengals.

Aubree Nish added 10 points for Shadow Ridge, which limited Bonanza to 10 points through three quarters.

Makayla Webb led the Bengals with seven points.

Chaparral 39, Moapa Valley 25 — At Chaparral, Marcia Hawkins scored 23 points to lead the Cowboys past the Pirates.

Alexis Van Story added 10 points for Chaparral, which led 19-6 at the half.

Matilda Thompson led Moapa Valley with seven points.

Boulder City 57, Tech 34 — At Boulder City, Megan Morton had 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists as the Eagles routed the Roadrunners.

Hannah Estes added 13 points for Boulder City, which led 29-20 at halftime and outscored Tech 16-3 in the third quarter to pull away.

Leslie Williams scored 16 points for Tech.

Desert Pines 66, Sunrise Mountain 21 — At Desert Pines, Chrystian Myles had 21 points and seven steals to guide the Jaguars by the Miners.

Jordan Bailey scored 18 points, and See'Airrah Evans-Collins grabbed 23 rebounds for Desert Pines, which got 11 points from Ani'ya Manghum.

KaVianna Kitch led Sunrise Mountain with eight points.

Centennial 76, Silverado 28 — At Silverado, Justice Ethridge scored 10 points to lead 14 scorers as the Bulldogs topped the Skyhawks.

Eboni Walker, Tanjanae Wells, Pam Wilmore, and Jayden Eggleston each added eight points for Centennial, which raced out to a 32-3 first-quarter lead.

Needles 55, Lake Mead 17 — At Lake Mead, Brenna Chavez scored 13 points to lead the Mustangs past the Eagles.

Jayne Antone had nine points, and teammate Preslee Murch added eight points for Needles, which jumped out to a 24-9 halftime lead.

Josey White paced Lake Mead with five points.

Lincoln County 54, Pahranagat Valley 24 — At Panaca, Hannah Hafen had 14 points and eight rebounds to help the Lynx top the Panthers.

Savannah Harr added 12 points, five assists and five steals, and Kristal Jackson had 10 points and eight rebounds for Lincoln County, which led 25-9 at the half.

Karley Whipple led Pahranagat Valley with eight points.

Mojave 44, Cheyenne 41 — At Cheyenne, the Rattlers edged the Desert Shields.
