GIRLS BASKETBALL: Godbolt, Cheyenne upset Western

Koreyl Godbolt had 20 points and 10 rebounds Thursday as Cheyenne's girls basketball team held on to upset visiting Western 48-43 in a Division I-A Sunset League game.

Morrisha Harden had 11 points, and Dominique Hudson scored nine for Cheyenne, which led 33-20 at halftime and 35-31 after three quarters.

Destiny Gonzalez led Western with 14 points. Jennessa Dunton had 11 points, and Capricia Pierce scored 10 for the Warriors.

Palo Verde 73, Shadow Ridge 42 — At Palo Verde, Paulina Silcox scored 19 points, and the Panthers dominated the second and third quarters to beat the Mustangs.

Brooklyn Cruz had 14 points, and Kaylee Puckett added 13 points for Palo Verde, which outscored Shadow Ridge 49-14 in the middle quarters after a slow start.

Lauryn Calo finished with 23 points to lead the Mustangs.

Bishop Gorman 60, Durango 18 — At Gorman, Skylar Jackson scored 10 points to lead the Gaels in a rout over the Trailblazers.

Raychel Stanley and Madison Washington each added nine points for Gorman, which outscored Durango 18-4 in the first quarter.

Brittany Romo scored five points to lead the Trailblazers.

Chaparral 69, Sunrise Mountain 35 — At Sunrise Mountain, Alexis Vanstory had 22 points, and Marcia Hawkins scored 20 as the Cowboys rolled by the Miners.

Jade Hazelton added 10 points for Chaparral, which led 23-2 after one quarter.

Ayla Diaz scored 12 points to lead Sunrise Mountain, which got eight points apiece from Tayaa Pratt and Tre'Licia Quinn.

Spring Valley 69, Clark 41 — At Clark, Alyssa Scott had 17 points to lead the Grizzlies to a rout of the Chargers.

Essence Booker and Kayla Harris each scored 15 points for Spring Valley, which led 34-19 at the half.

Shaylyn Thacker had nine points to pace Clark.

Sierra Vista 53, Mojave 33 — At Sierra Vista, Shania Harper had 11 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Mountain Lions past the Rattlers.

Iymoni Burrell also had 11 points, and Kayla Smith and Kayla Barnum each scored 10 for Sierra Vista, which outscored Mojave 23-9 in the first half.

Savannah Blanchard-Davis and Kiara Lemon each scored 13 points for the Rattlers.

Boulder City 60, Del Sol 29 — At Boulder City, Megan Morton had 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists to help the Eagles rout the Dragons.

Hannah Estes added 10 points for Boulder City, which jumped out to a 22-10 first-quarter lead.

Nickki Ventura scored nine points to lead the Dragons.

Virgin Valley 56, Tech 29 — At Mesquite, Briana Todd scored 13 points to lead the Bulldogs past the Roadrunners.

Bernice Fiso added nine points for Virgin Valley, which led 31-20 at halftime.

Tayler Muwwakkil led Tech with 13 points.
