GIRLS BASKETBALL: Arbor View slips past Shadow Ridge in Northwest opener

Alaysia Reed scored 21 points, including two late free throws for the game’s final margin, as Arbor View’s girls basketball team rallied to edge host Shadow Ridge 59-56 on Wednesday in the Northwest League opener.

Kalli Hosier had 15 points, and Autumn Westmoreland scored 14 for Arbor View, which used an 18-11 fourth-quarter run to pull away.

Lauryn Calo had a game-high 24 points, and teammate Alexa Martins scored 17 to lead Shadow Ridge.

Valley 40, Silverado 28 — At Valley, Sondra Scroggins scored 12 points to lead the Vikings to a win over the Skyhawks.

Jeuzel Pollins and Almond Slayton supplied seven points each for Valley, which opened the game on a 12-4 run and didn’t trail the rest of the way.

Kimberlyn Tanner led Silverado with 12 points.

Foothill 57, Las Vegas 40 — At Las Vegas, Rae Burrell scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Falcons by the Wildcats.

Trinity Betoney added 10 points, and Bri Rosales scored eight for Foothill, which led 32-21 after three quarters.

Armonnie Byrd led Las Vegas with 14 points. Alexiz Jenkins had nine points, and Jasmine Perez scored eight for the Wildcats.

Liberty 64, Desert Pines 21 — At Liberty, Dre’una Edwards had 20 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Patriots in a win over the Jaguars.

Kaily Kaimikaua had nine points and five rebounds, and London Pavlica supplied eight points and six rebounds for Liberty, which jumped to a 42-9 halftime lead.

See’Airrah Evans-Collins led Desert Pines with 11 points.

Moapa Valley 41, Rancho 25 — At Overton, Lainey Cornwall provided a spark off the bench with 15 points on five 3-pointers as the Pirates downed the Rams.

Kinlee Marshall scored 12 points for Moapa Valley, which jumped out to a 23-13 halftime lead.

Lea Williams led Rancho with 11 points.

Sierra Vista 59, Del Sol 12 — At Del Sol, Iymoni Burrell had 21 points, and the Mountain Lions downed the Dragons.

Emonnie Jackson added nine points for Sierra Vista, which had 10 players score.

The Mountain Lions led 24-2 after the first quarter.

Celeste Rodriguez had seven points to pace Del Sol.

Tech 63, Sunrise Mountain 35 — At Sunrise Mountain, Tayler Muwwakkil scored 14 points to lead the Roadrunners to victory over the Miners.

Jazlyn Domingo-Naval and Patrice Thomas each added nine points for Tech, which outscored Sunrise Mountain 23-7 in the third quarter after holding a 25-18 halftime lead.

Emani White had 18 points, and teammate Trinity Lavoll scored 14 to lead Sunrise Mountain.

Virgin Valley 52, Cheyenne 35 — At Mesquite, Briana Todd scored 14 points as the Bulldogs cruised past the Desert Shields.

Bernice Fiso added 10 points for Virgin Valley, which led 34-15 at halftime.

Starr Hawkins led Cheyenne with a game-high 15 points.

Mountain View 45, Sandy Valley 13 — At Mountain View, Tayah De’Bouck scored 17 points as the Saints routed the Sidewinders.

Jordan Spriggs added 10 points, and Nia Van Kempen scored nine for Mountain View, which held Sandy Valley to four or fewer points in each quarter.

Jocelyn Coday had six points for Sandy Valley.
