Top players: Sondra Scroggins, Jeuzel Pollins, Almond Slayton

Outlook: The Vikings have fallen on hard times the past two seasons after a run of seven straight playoff appearances.

Gentry, who helped build Arbor View into a contender, takes over a program that returns six letter winners, including Scroggins (12 points, 5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.4 steals per game), Slayton (8.3 ppg, 11 rpg, 2.4 blocks per game) and Pollins (6 ppg, 5 apg, 3.8 spg).

“The Vikings struggled last season, but have hopes of a turnaround year with three returning starters and a new coaching staff.”
