VOLLEYBALL: Erick Forbush powers Cimarron to victory over Legacy

Erick Forbush had 15 kills, eight digs and two aces in the Cimarron-Memorial boys volleyball team’s 25-21, 25-19, 22-25, 25-19 victory over visiting Legacy on Wednesday.

Fred Tito had nine kills, six digs and an ace for the Spartans, and Edher Aldaco supplied 33 assists.

Kaipo Butac-Mabry had 14 kills, four blocks and two digs for the Longhorns, and Creed Laws had 12 kills, 10 digs and two blocks.

Coronado 3, Foothill 0 — At Coronado, Ryan Garlick’s 17 kills, two aces and eight digs powered the Cougars to a 27-25, 25-17, 25-20 sweep of the Falcons.

Coronado’s Nik Purser had 11 kills, three aces and eight digs, and Matt Wilson had 43 assists, four digs and an ace. Andrew Corrales added 10 digs for the Cougars.

Silverado 3, Liberty 0 — At Silverado, Cody Steckel notched seven kills and 28 assists in the Skyhawks’ 25-19, 25-14, 25-17 win over the Patriots.

Jaden Keomaka supplied 11 kills and five digs, and Sean Borla tallied nine kills and seven digs for Silverado.

Tyler Chavez had 10 digs, Lucas Husli collected six digs and five kills, and Troy Fautanu contributed seven kills to pace Liberty.

Palo Verde 3, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Palo Verde, Kainoa Villa recorded 19 assists and nine digs, and Grant Tingey had eight kills and two blocks to help the Panthers sweep the Mustangs, 25-20, 25-19, 25-21.

Stephen Banks tallied eight kills for the Panthers, and Josh Horn added seven kills for Palo Verde.

Tanner Franklin compiled 17 kills, five digs and two blocks, and C.J. McInnis had 34 assists for Shadow Ridge. Jordan Miller added eight kills and seven digs for the Mustangs.

Green Valley 3, Basic 0 — At Green Valley, Brian Barkemeyer had 29 assists, seven digs, four kills, three blocks and two aces to lead the Gators to a sweep of the Wolves, 25-20, 25-21, 25-22.

James Reed tallied 21 kills, three aces and three blocks, and Alex Rasavong added eight digs and two aces for Green Valley.

Matt Gakeski notched 23 assists and two digs, and Bryson Callister had nine kills, four blocks and two digs for Basic.
