ROUNDUP: Thompson, Canyon Springs boys top century mark in rout of Panthers

Michael Thompson had 18 points to lead five scorers in double figures Thursday as Canyon Springs’ boys basketball team routed visiting Palo Verde, 102-52.

Chris Willis added 13 points and eight rebounds for the Pioneers. Marquon Webster scored 15 points, and Trey Evans and Jamaal Martin each tallied 10 points for Canyon Springs, which bolted to a 46-17 halftime lead and eclipsed 100 points for the second straight game.

Nahjee Matlock scored 12 points for Palo Verde.

Valley 66, Cheyenne 49 — At Cheyenne, Jarrett Coleman had 21 points, and Angelo Coleman scored 16 to help the Vikings defeat the Desert Shields.

Johnny Arbelaez added 11 points for Valley.

Gary Stewart led Cheyenne with 10 points.

Las Vegas 95, Del Sol 45 — At Las Vegas High, Travon Langston scored 23 points to help the Wildcats cruise past the Dragons.

O’Lynsso Pratt added 13 points for Las Vegas, which hit 11 3-pointers.

David Day had 12 points to lead Del Sol, which failed to recover after trailing behind 27-6 in the first quarter.

Centennial 86, San Luis (Ariz.) 37 — At Yuma, Ariz., Aaseem Dixon scored nine of his game-high 19 points in the second quarter to help the Bulldogs cruise to a win in the Southwest Rotary Classic.

Marcus Allen added 18 points for Centennial, which used a strong defensive effort to grab a 47-18 halftime lead.

Arbor View 75, Sahuarita (Ariz.) 63 — At Yuma, Ariz., Blake Claxton scored 16 points to lead the Aggies past the Mustangs in the Southwest Rotary Classic.

Brandon Hill added 12 points and Zach Hammond had 11 points for Arbor View, which outscored Sahuarita 36-26 in the second half.

Eldorado 73, Virgin Valley 54 — At Eldorado, DaQuon Thrower had 20 points to help the Sundevils roll past the Bulldogs.

Curtis Stewart added 14 points for Eldorado, which took over by outscoring Virgin Valley 26-9 in the third quarter.

Cameron Jensen led the Bulldogs with 26 points.

Faith Lutheran 73, McQueen 58 — At Minden, James Hammer scored 10 of his 24 points during a 29-19 second-quarter run as the Crusaders topped the Lancers in the opening round of the Carson Valley Classic.

Greg Thomas added 14 points for Faith Lutheran.

Joe Saarem paced McQueen with 28 points.

Cherry Creek (Colo.) 65, Durango 60 — At Durango, Matt Rattiner scored 26 points, and Sam Owstui added 12 points to help Cherry Creek beat the Trailblazers.

Greg Gentry had 18 points, Tra’Von Wells scored 13, and Joe Tuss supplied 10 for Durango.

Moapa Valley 71, Sunrise Mountain 52 — At Overton, Casen Lewis scored 18 points as the Pirates defeated the Miners.

Hayden Cooper had 15 points, and Josh Thompson and Shane Terril each contributed 11 points for Moapa Valley. Thompson also distributed six assists.

Shmarlio Tolliver had 13 points for Sunrise Mountain.

Rancho 67, Boulder City 64 — At Boulder City, Kris Hall had 19 points to help the Rams hold on for a victory over the Eagles.

Nate Hafen had 17 points to help Boulder City, which trailed by 13 before rallying in the second half.

Bradshaw Mountain (Ariz.) 52, Mountain View 41 — At Yuma, Ariz., Javier Olivas scored 19 points, and the Bears broke out to a 30-18 halftime lead on their way to a win over the Saints in the opening round of the Southwest Rotary Classic.

Justyn Anderson drained five 3-pointers en route to 23 points for Mountain View.

Adelson School 51, Sandy Valley 41 — At Sandy Valley, Gabi Bornstein scored 13 points to lead the Lions past the Sidewinders.

Matthew Hampson added 11 points for Adelson.

Ryan Hagan paced the Sidewinders with 13 points.
