ROUNDUP: Sanico, free throws lift Wildcat boys past Sundevils

Las Vegas High’s boys basketball team shot 12-for-14 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter Friday, and the Wildcats held off visiting Eldorado, 67-59.

George Sanico was 4-for-4 from the line in the fourth quarter to finish with 19 points.

Travon Langston added 16 points, and Phil Dunigan scored 13 for Las Vegas, which made 24-of-26 free throws.

The Wildcats hit six 3-pointers in the first half to take a 37-23 halftime lead before Eldorado began to rally.

Julian Jacobs led the Sundevils with 23 points. Curtis Stewart added 14 points for Eldorado.

The win left Las Vegas tied with Chaparral for fourth place in the Northeast League at 4-5. The top four teams advance to the playoffs.

Eldorado fell to 7-2 in league play.

Western 64, Bonanza 62 — At Bonanza, Kenyon Washington scored 19 points as the Warriors escaped with a win over the Bengals.

Aaron Buckley added 13 points and Landon White 11 for Western, which held off a fourth-quarter rally by Bonanza.

Teyshawn Campbell led Bonanza with 23 points. Matt Figgins added 18 for the Bengals.

Cheyenne 69, Shadow Ridge 57 — At Cheyenne, Khalid Banks had 21 points, and Gary Stewart had 10 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots to lead the Desert Shields past the Mustangs.

Ivan Harper added 12 points and two steals, and Bryan Laws grabbed 10 rebounds for Cheyenne.

David Everage led Shadow Ridge with 15 points. Jordan Brown scored 10 for the Mustangs.

Durango 55, Pahrump Valley 45 — At Pahrump, Joel Feigler scored 13 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter to help the Trailblazers rally for a win over the Trojans.

Cameron Stemley added 14 points for Durango, which trailed 38-33 heading into the final period.

Josh Schulz scored 12 points to lead Pahrump, and teammate Dajhan Celius had 11 points.

Sierra Vista 74, Desert Oasis 60 — At Sierra Vista, Viko Noma’aea had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead the Mountain Lions past the Diamondbacks.

Maiscei Grier added 17 points, and Gary Jacobs had 13 points, eight rebounds and five steals for Sierra Vista. Dallin Molina added 11 rebounds for the Mountain Lions.

Cameron Mich’l paced Desert Oasis with 27 points.

Cimarron-Memorial 64, Arbor View 51 — At Arbor View, Erik Brewer and Marques Barnes each scored 15 points to lift the Spartans past the Aggies.

Blake Claxton scored 12 points to lead Arbor View, which was unable to overcome a 17-6 first-quarter deficit. Teammate DeAndrea Johnson had seven points and six rebounds.

Bishop Gorman 94, Spring Valley 63 — At Spring Valley, Ben Carter had 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the Gaels past the Grizzlies.

Rosco Allen scored 22 points for Gorman, which took control early and rolled to a 34-19 lead at the end of the first quarter. Demetris Morant tallied 13 points and Ryan Parks 11 for the Gaels.

DeShawn Nowlin and Justin Profit each scored 14 points to lead Spring Valley. Gary Payton added 11 points for the Grizzlies.

Chaparral 70, Sunrise Mountain 48 — At Chaparral, Zach Kirschbaum had 19 points, 21 rebounds and 10 steals to help the Cowboys beat the Miners.

Kevin Morgan scored 15 points and Jermaine Neal 13 to help Chaparral, which pulled away in the second half.

Ariel Baggett led Sunrise Mountain with 17 points.

Canyon Springs 85, Desert Pines 53 — At Desert Pines, Chris Willis had 18 points to lead the Pioneers past the Jaguars.

Marquon Webster scored 13 points, and Trey Evans and Michael Thompson each had 12 to help

Canyon Springs. Jared Brandon and Donald Anderson scored 10 points apiece for the Pioneers, who led 44-28 at the half.

Chancellor Davis led Desert Pines with 16 points. Leon Saunders added 13 points and Najee McIver 10 for the Jaguars.

Valley 73, Rancho 56 — At Valley, Christian Kessee scored 13 points as the Vikings ran past the Rams.

Nine other Valley players scored at least five points.

Isaiah Timpson lead the Rams with 12 points.

Clark 53, Virgin Valley 45 — At Mesquite, D’Andre Henderson scored 18 points to help the Chargers beat the Bulldogs.

Brian McGriff added 17 points for Clark, which rallied after falling behind 15-9 in the first quarter.

Cameron Jensen scored 27 points to lead Virgin Valley.

Needles 90, Lincoln County 80 — At Needles, Calif., Aaron Burns had 22 points and 10 rebounds as the Mustangs beat the Lynx.

Lewis Larrabee added 19 points, Ryan Andrews scored 16, and Michael Hills had 10 points, seven assists and seven steals for Needles.

Lincoln County’s Dantley Walker scored 50 points, giving him 3,004 career points.

Chandler Katschke added 13 points for the Lynx.

The Meadows 61, Lake Mead 35 — At Lake Mead, Garrett Gosse had 16 points to help the Mustangs rout the Eagles.

Austin Brown added 14 points and Max Newman 10 for The Meadows, which limited Lake Mead to 12 second-half points.

L.J. Yamzon had 14 points to lead the Eagles.

Agassi Prep 76, Calvary Chapel 50 — At Calvary Chapel, David Bailey had 13 points, and Curtis Watson scored 11 to help the Stars beat the Lions.

Decari Lide contributed seven points, six assists and five steals for Agassi Prep, which had 12 players score.

Pahranagat Valley 68, Spring Mountain 47 — At Alamo, Kade Wadsworth scored 15 points, and the Panthers used a 20-8 third-quarter run to build a 56-31 lead and cruise past the Eagles.

Derek Hansen added 14 points, and Jeremy Roemer scored 11 for Pahranagat Valley.

Maurice Williams led Spring Mountain with 17 points. Devante Rash scored 16 and Andrew Cavanaugh 12 for the Golden Eagles.

Round Mountain 76, Indian Springs 41 — At Round Mountain, Serjio Chavez scored 15 of his 29 points during a 35-4 second-quarter run as the Knights ran past the Thunderbirds.

Bryan Moreno added 12 points, and Mitchell Doheny scored 10 for Round Mountain.

Dominic Morgando scored 27 points, and Chasen Malden added 10 points for Indian Springs.

Beatty 57, Mountain View 44 — At Beatty, Anthony Turner had 21 points to lead the Hornets past the Saints.

Alex Capozzoli and Matthew Larson each scored 14 points for Mountain View.

Tonopah 44, Sandy Valley 23 — At Tonopah, David McGaw had 10 points as the Muckers topped the Sidewinders.
