ROUNDUP: Navitsky spurs fourth-quarter run, rallies Liberty boys past Desert Pines

Aaron Navitsky scored 11 of his 30 points during the fourth quarter Thursday, rallying Liberty’s boys basketball team to a 60-54 win over visiting Desert Pines.

The Patriots trailed 43-37 entering the fourth quarter before outscoring the Jaguars 23-11 in the final eight minutes.

Randy Thomason added 12 points for Liberty.

Najee McIver led Desert Pines with 21 points, and teammate Caleb Myles scored 12 points.

Western 76, Palo Verde 71 — At Palo Verde, Kentrell Washington had 19 points to help the Warriors defeat the Panthers.

Sir Washington helped Western with 17 points, and teammate Kenyon Washington added 14 points. Aaron Buckley supplied 13 points for Western.

Eris Winder scored a game-high 34 points to lead Palo Verde, which trailed 42-24 at halftime.

Coronado 54, Chaparral 46 — At Coronado, Jared Culbert had 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Cougars past the Cowboys.

Adam Schmitt had 12 points and 14 rebounds to help Coronado, which rallied after falling behind 13-8 in the first quarter.

Chaparral’s Zach Kirschbaum led all scorers with 21 points.

Las Vegas 59, Silverado 45 — At Silverado, Travon Langston scored 12 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats used a late burst to pull away from the Skyhawks.

Hasaan Henderson added 13 points for Las Vegas.

Bryan Marberry had 12 points for Silverado, and David Ware scored 11.

Rancho 71, Virgin Valley 64 — At Rancho, Chris Hall scored 12 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter, spurring the Rams past the Bulldogs.

Rancho trailed 45-39 entering the fourth quarter, but scored 32 points in the final period to pull out the win. Ciaran Subira had 22 points for Rancho.

Virgin Valley’s Cameron Jensen led all scorers with 34 points. Brandon Cohen added 14 points for the Bulldogs, who committed 27 turnovers.

Moapa Valley 60, Tech 42 — At Tech, Hayden Cooper tallied 20 points, and the Pirates overcame an early 14-2 deficit to down the Roadrunners.

Josh Thompson and Milas Sendlein each scored 11 points for Moapa Valley, which closed the first half on a 22-4 run.

Michael Johnson had 19 points and seven rebounds to lead Tech, which got 16 points from Manny Gonzalez.

Basic 42, Boulder City 37— At Basic, Kyle Taitano scored nine points, and Jaylen Rose added seven points to help Basic edge Boulder City.

Agassi Prep 98, Lutheran South (Texas) 78 — At Agassi Prep, Anson Williams had 21 points to help the Stars pull away in the second half.

Kalinn Jackson helped Agassi with 15 points, six rebounds and five assists, and teammate Curtis Watson added 15 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
