ROUNDUP: Mongkholtham, Pioneer boys top Valley to clinch No. 2 seed

Ladarell Mongkholtham scored 16 points Tuesday to lead Canyon Springs’ boys basketball team to a 70-55 victory over visiting Valley.

Nick Scott and Gerad Davis each added 13 points for the Pioneers, who locked up the Northeast League’s No. 2 playoff seed with the win.

Shaquille Carr scored 11 points for Canyon Springs, which led 37-21 at the half.

Ryan Johnson paced the Vikings with 17 points, and teammate Chris Swanson scored 11.

Chaparral 79, Rancho 67 — At Rancho, Kamron Alexander had 21 points to help the Cowboys defeat the Rams.

Patrick Savoy added 17 points, Tyree McNeal had 16 points, and Kevin Morgan scored 14 for Chaparral.

Rancho’s Ciaran Subria led all scorers with 26 points, and Chris Beverly added 20 points for the Rams.

Eldorado 77, Sunrise Mountain 56 — At Sunrise Mountain, D.J. Billingsley scored 18 points to lead the Sundevils past the Miners.

Jacob Hollingsworth added 14 points for Eldorado, which led 45-27 at the half. DaQuan Thrower and Jayveon Brown each scored 13 points for the Sundevils.

Fharhaad Zinnamon led Sunrise Mountain with 19 points, and teammate Zane Gibbs added 16 points.

Mountain View 85, Lake Mead 82 — At Mountain View, Adonis Morris hit a 3-pointer with about 20 seconds left in overtime to give the Saints an 83-82 lead, and they held on to beat the Eagles.

Mountain View’s Matt Larson scored 25 points, and had a steal and layup with 1.2 seconds left in the extra period to seal the win.

Trevor Van Kempen had 17 points, T.J. Kissinger scored 14 and Joseph Gueverra 12 for Mountain View, which was 14-for-18 from the free-throw line.

Justin Yamzon hit six 3-pointers and went 17-for-20 from the foul line on his way to 49 points for Lake Mead.

Brendan LeBaron and Caleb Pitman each added 12 points for the Eagles.

Boulder City 57, Moapa Valley 45 — At Overton, Kaleb Bailey had 20 points to lead the Eagles past the Pirates.

Nate Hafen added 15 points for Boulder City.

Dakota Watters led Moapa Valley with 20 points.

The Meadows 68, Calvary Chapel 47 — At The Meadows, Adam Aziz scored 16 points, and Garrett Gosse added 15 points as the Mustangs downed the Lions.

Brandon Rufty added 10 points for The Meadows, which led 36-18 at the half.

Ryan Barten led Calvary Chapel with 14 points.

Agassi Prep 71, Laughlin 39 — At Agassi Prep, Demetrius White scored 14 points, and Anson Williams and Devin Bailey each added 10 points and eight rebounds as the Stars blitzed the Cougars.

DeCari Lide supplied nine offensive rebounds for Agassi Prep, which led 51-9 at the half.

Colton Hill paced Laughlin with 23 points.

Spring Mountain 74, Adelson School 62 — At Saville Middle School, Roemello Brandon had 21 points and 17 rebounds to help the Eagles defeat the Lions.

Marquion White scored 19 points, and Tyrice Hall added 16 points for Spring Mountain.

Mendi Berrebi had 16 points to pace Adelson. Rob Blackwell scored 14 and Ross Behrin 13 for the Lions.

Sandy Valley 71, Trinity 44 — At Sandy Valley, Randal Spencer had 19 points to help the Sidewinders top the Thunder.

Brandon Hughes added 16 points, and Ryan Hagan scored 12 for Sandy Valley.
