ROUNDUP: Gibbs, Sunrise Mountain boys survive Pirates in overtime

Zane Gibbs scored 14 points, and Sunrise Mountain’s boys escaped with a 59-58 overtime win over Moapa Valley on Thursday in Overton.

The Pirates had two final chances to win after Sunrise Mountain missed a late free throw. Moapa Valley called timeout with 5.3 seconds to play, but missed a shot and a put-back.

Jason Ford and Smarlio Tolliver each added 13 points for the Miners.

Jackson Mortensen had 16 points to lead the Pirates, and teammate Bunker Wimer scored 11.

Virgin Valley 57, Boulder City 54 — At Boulder City, Garrett Leavitt poured in 25 points as the Bulldogs edged the Eagles.

Tyson Teerlink chipped in 14 points for Virgin Valley, which got 11 points from Dee Bowler.

Tanner Howell had 16 points for Boulder City, and teammate Kaleb Bailey scored 13 points.

Clark 62, Faith Lutheran 43 — At Clark, Sir Washington scored 15 points and the Chargers outscored the Crusaders 23-11 in the third quarter to pull away.

Colby Jackson added 12 points for Clark, which got 11 points from Ty’Rek Wells.

Sam Stevens paced Faith Lutheran with 16 points. The Crusaders were within a point at halftime at 24-23.

Centennial 97, Desert Oasis 64 —
At Desert Oasis, Marcus Allen scored 33 points to help the Bulldogs top the Diamondbacks.

Malcolm Allen added 28 points for Centennial, which led 54-44 at the half. Khalil Thompson scored 15 for the Bulldogs.

Juliano Rosario paced Desert Oasis with 10 points.

Desert Pines 76, Chaparral 46 — At Desert Pines, Re’meake Keith had 15 points and 10 rebounds to help the Jaguars top the Cowboys.

Donavin Wright added 14 points, and Jesse Martin scored 10 for Desert Pines.

Tyree McNeal led Chaparral with 13 points, and teammate Patrick Savoy scored 12.

Cimarron-Memorial 88, Bonanza 58 — At Bonanza, Austin Garrison had 16 points as the Spartans routed the Bengals.

Joe McKellar had 13 points, and Tony Harrison scored 10 for Cimarron.

Rio Justice Chandler led Bonanza with 15 points, and Cameron Ladson scored 10 for the Bengals.

Cheyenne 74, Western 28 — At Cheyenne, Bryan Laws had 19 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shot to help the Desert Shields rout the Warriors.

Stanley Blake added 11 points, nine rebounds and two assists for Cheyenne, which led 34-12 at the half.

Darius Gantt had 15 rebounds and five blocked shots, and teammates Edward Shaw and Jarrell Bell each added five assists for the Desert Shields.

Travis Dunn scored 14 points to lead Western, and Darion Murray scored 10 for the Warriors.

Mojave 62, Pahrump Valley 36 — At Pahrump, Malik Abbott scored 18 points to help the Rattlers beat the Trojans.

J’Angelis Stevenson added 12 points, and Anthony Chapple scored 11 for Mojave.

Adam Brand led Pahrump with nine points.

Round Mountain 58, Adelson School 44 — At Adelson School, Serjio Chavez scored 34 points to power the Knights over the Lions.

Round Mountain outscored Adelson 19-9 in the second quarter to take a 29-19 halftime advantage.

Francis Ventura scored 12 points to lead the Lions.
