ROUNDUP: Gentry’s halfcourt basket enables Durango’s double-OT victory

Greg Gentry’s basket from beyond halfcourt got Durango into overtime. Free-throw shooting got the Trailblazers out of it with a victory over Western.

Gentry, who scored 11 points, made his long shot at the end of the fourth quarter, and visiting Durango went on to a 78-74 double-overtime victory over the Warriors on Tuesday.

Western made a buzzer-beater of its own as Anterian Cannon made a 3-pointer at the end of the first overtime to tie the game at 67.

Durango hit 5 of 6 free throws in the second overtime to put away the game.

Shawn Jones scored eight of his 14 points in the fourth quarter for the Trailblazers, and Dario Jokic also had 14. Devonte Williams added 13 and Kris Bennett 11.

Western’s Johnnie Diggs scored a game-high 24 points. Brad Cairo had 12, D’Andre Nash 11 and Ehbert Talice 10.

Foothill 67, Silverado 61 — At Foothill, A.J. Shepard scored seven of his eight points in overtime to lift the Falcons over the Skyhawks.

Kadeem Minor led Foothill with 16 points and Evan Roquemore added 12, going 4 of 4 at the foul line in overtime.

Jimmy Lata, who had 16 points for Silverado, made a 3-pointer to send the game into overtime tied at 53.

Wade Collie led the Skyhawks with 23 points and Ali Sabra added 16.

Del Sol 86, Coronado 85 — At Del Sol, freshman guard Durrell McDonald made a layup at the buzzer to give the Dragons the victory over the Cougars.

Anthony Martinez scored 29 points for Del Sol, Jeff Coon supplied 20 and Chris Sanders had 19.

Charlie Wakefield led Coronado with 28 points and Jamel Morgan had 19.

Eldorado 61, Canyon Springs 59 — At Eldorado, the Sundevils withstood a Pioneers rally.

Charles White scored 15 points for Eldorado, and Ariel Baggett supplied 12 points and nine rebounds. Tone Gatewood and Bobby Webb added 10 points each.

Adrian Snow led Canyon Springs with 18 points. Terence Stanley added 13 and Antonio Snow 10.

Eldorado played most of the game without scoring leader Mitrell Clark, who suffered a head-first collision during the first quarter. Clark is expected to be OK, coach Michael Uzan said.

Liberty 53, Green Valley 50 — At Green Valley, Milos Knezevic had 26 points and 13 rebounds as the Patriots edged the Gators.

Glenn Bewley sparked Green Valley with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Austin Tebbs scored 15 and Demetrius Pittman 10.

Tech 50, Basic 46 — At Tech, Brandon Tiffany’s go-ahead three-point play helped the Roadrunners rally from an eight-point deficit.

Tiffany led Tech with 16 and Mike Johnson scored 13.

Basic’s Vince Carducci finished with 11 points, and Laquan Fletcher and Nick Sangchaloay had 10 each.

Bishop Gorman 63, Bonanza 48 — At Bonanza, Anson Winder scored 19 points in the Gaels’ victory over the Bengals.

Gorman’s Deandra Kambala supplied 11 points and Shabazz Muhammad 10.

Arin Matt scored 12 for Bonanza.

Desert Oasis 68, Spring Valley 61 — At Desert Oasis, freshman Anthony Lianzo compiled 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists to carry the Diamondbacks past the Grizzlies.

Lianzo shot 9-for-15 from the field.

Cameron Mich’l added 20 points and 10 rebounds for Desert Oasis, and Nick Cruz scored 13.

Jesse Chippoletti led Spring Valley with 26 points. Anton Stallworth and Corey Clement each added 10.

Sierra Vista 53 , Clark 50 — At Clark, Viko Noma’aea blocked a last-second 3-point attempt by Clark’s Steven Dancy, locking down the Mountain Lions’ victory over the Chargers.

Ray Tapusoa scored 14 points to lead Sierra Vista. Quinten Chow added 12 and Amir Garrett 11.

Clark’s Mike Allen and Dancy scored 14 points each. Rabbit Toler and Isidro Garcia each added 10.

Palo Verde 68, Mojave 61 — At Mojave, D.J. Stennis led a balanced attack with 14 points, and the Panthers used a 21-11 edge in the third quarter to beat the Rattlers.

Bryce Cotton added 13 points and Liloa Nobriga 10 for Palo Verde.

Anthony Marshall led Mojave with 18 points. Kevin James had 16, Nick Mathews 14 and Prentice Marshall 12.

Centennial 82, Cimarron-Memorial 38 — At Centennial, Ben Vozzola made six 3-pointers and scored 25 points to lead the Bulldogs over the Spartans.

Matt Holley had 15 points and Drew Staker 11 for Centennial.

Kevin Olekaibe led Cimarron with 11 points.

Cheyenne 80, Shadow Ridge 48 — At Shadow Ridge, Elijah Johnson poured in 20 points, and the Desert Shields coasted after taking a 38-17 halftime lead.

J’Quon Wroten added 17 points for the Cheyenne.

Ray Singatary led Shadow Ridge with 13 points and 18 rebounds. Joseph Pearson added 12 points.

Legacy 62, Arbor View 57 — At Legacy, Ira Haywood had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and sank two free throws with five seconds remaining to seal the victory over the Aggies.

Sam Johnson added 13 points and 13 rebounds, and Sian Laine had 10 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for the Longhorns.

Darington Banks led Arbor View with 20 points, and James Graham and Kenny Mack each had 10.

Moapa Valley 66, Lincoln County 54 — At Panaca, Jake Pearce scored six of his 14 points during a 23-11 fourth-quarter run that lifted Moapa Valley past the Lynx.

Max Jenkins led Moapa Valley with 24 points. Shaun Hilton added 10 points for the Pirates.

Dantley Walker led the Lynx with 25 points, and teammate Eric Rippetoe scored 11.

Needles 44, Agassi Prep 32 — At Needles, Calif., Stevie Kidd scored 17 points, and the Mustangs used a strong transition game in the second half to beat Agassi Prep.

Anthony Ramos added 12 points and Darra Russell 11 for the Mustangs.

Agassi Prep held the ball for most of the first half against Needles' 3-2 zone, leading to a 2-2 tie at halftime.

DeShawn Battle led the Stars with 13 points.

The Meadows 68, Mountain View 61 — At Mountain View, Nate Gord led four double-figure scorers with 17 points as The Meadows beat the Saints.

Max Newman scored 16 points, Garrett Gosse 15 and Richard Martinez 13.

For Mountain View, Justyn Anderson scored 19 points and Cortland LeBoeuf 17. Karl Benjamin grabbed 12 rebounds.

Lake Mead 53, Sandy Valley 6 — At Lake Mead, the Eagles played mostly reserves and coasted in a game in which no free throws were attempted.

Jesse Hehn scored 16 points, and Josh Bratton and Alex Mayorga had 14 apiece for Lake Mead.

Spring Mountain 60, Indian Springs 37 — At Indian Springs, Davonte Sandifer scored 29 points and the Eagles soared past the Thunderbirds.

Spring Mountain led 23-8 after the first quarter and 37-23 at halftime.

Junior Baker led Indian Springs with 12 points.
