ROUNDUP: Dunigan, balanced Wildcats top Pioneers

Phil Dunigan had 16 points Tuesday to help Las Vegas High’s boys basketball team to a 70-58 home victory over Canyon Springs.

Juwan Major (15 points), Traven Yancey (14) and Hasaan Henderson (12) also scored in double figures for the Wildcats, who led 35-21 at the half.

Canyon Springs’ Gerad Davis led all scorers with 20 points. Shaquille Carr added 12 points, and Anthony Jones scored nine for the Pioneers.

Chaparral 69, Eldorado 55 — At Eldorado, Kamron Alexander scored 19 points to help the Cowboys stun the Sundevils.

Parick Savoy and Jared Celestine each added 14 points for the Cowboys, who trailed 56-50 going into the fourth quarter.

Kevin Morgan added 12 points for Chaparral.

Da’Quan Thrower scored 24 points to lead the Sundevils. Markeith Floyd added 12 points, and D.J. Billingsley 10 for Eldorado.

Desert Pines 71, Rancho 55 — At Rancho, Thomas Hooper had 15 points, and the Jaguars used a 24-8 burst in the second quarter to earn a road win over the Rams.

Jesse Martin and Julian Jacobs each added 10 points for Desert Pines.

Ciaran Subira and Ronnie Thomas each scored 19 points for Rancho.

Valley 77, Sunrise Mountain 54 — At Valley, Caleb Carter had 16 points, and Keanu Peters scored 15 points as the Vikings defeated the Miners.

Daniel Young added 13 points, and Chris Swanson scored 11 for Valley, which led 29-9 after one quarter.

Stephon Nathan had 19 points for Sunrise Mountain, and Fharhaad Zinnamon added 13 points for the Miners.

The Meadows 63, Moapa Valley 50 — At The Meadows, Garrett Gosse scored 16 points as the Mustangs topped the Pirates.

Richard Lee added 13 points for the Meadows, and Max Newman scored 12 for the Mustangs, who led 18-7 after one quarter.

Sean McConnell scored 13 points to lead Moapa Valley, and teammate Shane Terril added 10 points.

Lake Mead 60, Calvary Chapel 51 — At Calvary Chapel, Justin Yamzon scored 20 points as the Eagles topped the Lions.

Jordan Tillman had 13 points, and Caleb Pitman 10 for Lake Mead, which was 15-for-18 from the foul line.

Drew Hammond had 16 points to lead Calvary Chapel. A.J. Davis had 11 points, and Bobby Buist scored 10 for the Lions.

Agassi Prep 76, Lincoln County 63 — At Panaca, Anson Williams scored 22 points as the Stars topped the Lynx.

Darryl Green added 13 points, and DeCari Lide and Kalinn Jackson each scored 11 for Agassi Prep, which got 10 points from Terrell Kemp.

Chandler Katschke led Lincoln County with 22 points, and Ryan Rippetoe added 18 points for the Lynx.

Needles 77, Mountain View 54 — At Needles, John Ochoa had 23 points and six rebounds, and Michael Hills added 19 points, nine rebounds and seven assists to help lead the Mustangs past the Saints.

Aaron Burns supplied 13 points and seven rebounds for Needles, which got 10 points from Lewie Larrabee.

Matt Larson had 17 points, T.J. Kissinger added 14 points, and Joseph Guevarra scored 12 for Mountain View.

Sandy Valley 51, Adelson School 45 — At Sandy Valley, Ryan Hagan scored 19 points to help the Sidewinders top the Lions.

Brandon Hughes added 13 points for Sandy Valley, which trailed 38-37 going into the fourth quarter.

Robert Blackwell led Adelson with 14 points.

Indian Springs 50, Trinity 37 — At Indian Springs, Dominic Morgando and Brock Roadhouse each scored 17 points to lead the Thunderbirds past the Thunder.

Spring Mountain 54, Beatty 48 — At Beatty, Marquion White had 16 points and Tomoshea Edwards scored 13 to lead the Eagles past the Hornets.

Ivan Hernandez led Beatty with 18 points, and Jose Moreno scored 11 for the Hornets.
