ROUNDUP: Desert Pines slips past Las Vegas in boys basketball

Pierre Jackson scored 19 of his 34 points in the second half Thursday to help Desert Pines hold off visiting Las Vegas, 82-73.

Reggie Shaw added 15 points for the Jaguars, who led 41-29 at the half. Tyler Larson scored 11 points and Donovan Williams 10 for Desert Pines.

Tony Eackles led Las Vegas with 25 points. Aahmad Franklin added 18 points.

Rancho 48, Chaparral 47 — At Rancho, the Rams withstood a fourth-quarter rally by the Cowboys.

Chaparral outscored Rancho 21-12 in the fourth, hitting two 3-pointers and going 7-for-11 at the free-throw line in the period.

But the Rams held on to win behind 11 points from Byron Bynum. Fabian Dominguez added 14 rebounds for Rancho.

Jerome Young had 14 points and Jermaine Neal 13 for Chaparral.

Clark 58, Desert Oasis 55 — At Clark, Isidro Garcia hit five three-pointers and finished with a game-high 30 points to help the Chargers rally to beat Desert Oasis.

Steven Dancy added 15 points for Clark.

Cameron Mich’l led Desert Oasis with 25 points.

Canyon Springs 72, Valley 64 — At Canyon Springs, Michael Thompson scored 17 points and Jeremy Alexander 14 to help the Pioneers beat Valley.

Chris Willis added 11 points for Canyon Springs.

Valley’s Johnquez Brooks led all scorers with 31 points, and Khristian Kirkwood had 15 points.

Findlay Prep 90, Eldorado 48 — At Henderson International, nine Pilots scored to give Findlay Prep an easy win over the Sundevils.

Findlay Prep had five double-figure scorers in Victor Rudd (19), Avery Bradley (15), Carlos Lopez (13), D.J. Richardson (11) and Willie Hankins (10).

Marcus Moreland scored 18 points for Eldorado, which got 13 from Ariel Bagget and 10 from Mitrell Clark.

Sierra Vista 76, Pahrump Valley 45 — At Pahrump, Quinten Chow poured in five 3-pointers and scored 20 points to lead the Mountain Lions past the Trojans.

Ray Tapusoa added 18 points and Amir Garrett 14 for Sierra Vista, which outscored Pahrump 51-25 in the middle two quarters.

Marvin Weekly led the Trojans with 16 points. Tyler True added 11.

Pahranagat Valley 65, Trinity 43 — At Alamo, Brady Whipple and Tommy Williams each had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Panthers past the Thunder.

Taylor Poulsen added 11 points for Pahranagat Valley, which held Trinity without a point in the first quarter.

Budweiser Hawkins led the Thunder with 21 points. Gage Neuwohner added 11 points.

Indian Springs 43, Adelson School 39 — At Adelson School, Patrick McClain scored 12 points and Chasen Malden added 11 as the Thunderbirds held off a late rally to defeat the Lions.

Gabi Bornstein scored 12 points and Aaron Lapping had 11 for Adelson School.
