Roundup: Dejonte Allen’s buzzer-beater wins it for Chaparral

Dejonte Allen’s put-back at the buzzer lifted Chaparral’s boys basketball team to a 61-59 victory over visiting Basic on Thursday.

Jonathan Tendale had 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Cowboys, and teammate Meshach Hawkins scored 14 points.

Geoff Faries scored 20 points to lead the Wolves, who got 16 points from Peter Nelson.

Tech 59, Valley 56 — At Tech, Jurelle Orbino had 22 points and seven assists as the Roadrunners held off the Vikings.

Orbino was 6-for-8 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter. Miguel Pena added 15 points for Tech, and teammate Manny Board hit a key free throw late for the final margin.

Bryce Joens paced Valley with 18 points. Oscar Burns scored 13 points, and Tommy Anderson added 11 points for the Vikings.

Sierra Vista 60, Del Sol 39 — At Sierra Vista, Calvin Richards scored 12 points as the Mountain Lions defeated the Dragons.

Maitland Williams added 11 points for Sierra Vista, which outscored Del Sol 19-8 in the third quarter.

Tyrell Hampton paced Del Sol with 13 points.

Sunrise Mountain 74, Somerset-Losee 39 — At Sunrise Mountain, Steven Adeyemi had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead the Miners in a rout of the Lions.

Tyree Hayes added 10 points for Sunrise Mountain, which led 35-17 at halftime.

Maxwell Lewis had 18 points to lead the Lions.

Clark 90, Innovations International 35 — At Clark, Jalen Hill had 18 points as the Chargers routed the Ambassadors.

James Bridges and Cimarron Conriquez each scored 10 for the Chargers, who led 28-22 at halftime.

Jordan Allison had 13 points to lead the Ambassadors.

Liberty 82, Monterey Trail (Calif.) 69 — At Reno, Julian Strawther scored 15 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter as the Patriots beat the Mustangs in the Wild West Shootout.

Cameron Burist added 23 points for the Patriots, who led 40-31 at the half.

Bryce Fitzgerald led Monterey Trail with 24 points.

Desert Oasis 73, Kofa (Ariz.) 29 — At Yuma, Arizona, Jacob Heese poured in 24 points to lead the Diamondbacks to an easy win over the Kings in the Southwest Rotary Classic.

Jackson Jones added 11 points for Desert Oasis, which held Kofa to one point in the second quarter.

Jeremy Smith had six points to lead Kofa.

Copper Canyon (Ariz.) 67, Mountain View 50 — At Yuma, Arizona, Isaiah Marin scored 15 points to lead the Aztecs past the Saints in the Southwest Rotary Classic.

Dylan Sanders added 11 points for Copper Canyon, which led 35-19 at halftime.

Terrence Brooks scored 23 points to lead the Saints, and twin brother Tyrell Brooks had 15 points.

Needles 77, El Capitan (Ariz.) 31 — At Williams, Arizona, Gilman Jenkins had 18 points to power the Mustangs by the Eagles in the Williams Holiday Tournament.

Doogie Harvey and Irving Juarez each added nine points for Needles, which led 41-15 at halftime.

Needles 62, Ash Fork (Ariz.) 41 — At Williams, Arizona, Trey Sosie led all scorers with 18 points as the Mustangs topped the Spartans in the Williams Holiday Tournament.

Harvey scored 12 for the Mustangs, and Samaj Howell had 10 points.

Adelson School 58, Laughlin 26 — At Laughlin, Ben Elharrar scored 16 points as the Lions topped the Cougars.

Alex Sefia had 10 points, and teammate Miles Hagan added nine points for Adelson.

Brandon Nelson and Edward Petrich each scored five points to pace Laughlin.

Whittell 51, Pahranagat Valley 44 — At Wells, the Warriors outscored the Panthers 22-5 in the fourth quarter to earn the win in the Rural Electric Tournament.

Corey Huber scored 15 points to lead Whittell.

Stockton Maxwell paced Pahranagat Valley with 14 points. Culen Highbe added 11 points for the Panthers.

Sky Pointe 63, Indian Springs 54 — At Sky Pointe, Danny Cox had 19 points and nine rebounds to power the Eagles over the Thunderbirds.

Ryan Hedland added 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Treveonne Swift scored 15 for Sky Pointe.

Indian Springs’ Dallin DAvis led all scorers with 29 points.

Bishop Gorman 79, Bishop Manogue 48 — At Reno, the Gaels routed the Miners in the Wild West Shootout.

Lake Mead Holiday Classic

SLAM Academy 67, Calvary Chapel 55 — At Calvary Chapel, Jalen Cunningham scored a game-high 29 points as the Bulls beat the Lions in the Lake Mead Holiday Classic.

Londan Coleman had 15 points for the Bulls, who scored 28 points in the second quarter.

Elijah Martinez led the Lions with 18 points, and Blake Box scored 16.

The Meadows 53, Moapa Valley 35 — At Lake Mead, Joe Epstein scored 18 points to lead the Mustangs past the Pirates.

Obinna Ezeanolue added 17 points for The Meadows, which led 26-9 at the end of the first quarter.

Derek Reese scored 13 points to lead the Pirates.

Boulder City 53, Lincoln County 41 — At Lake Mead, Clayton Pendleton scored 14 points to lead the Eagles past the Lynx.

Karson Bailey added nine points for Boulder City, which led 22-14 at the half.

Mason Thornock and Kobe Walker each scored nine points to lead the Lynx.

Boulder City 57, Fernley 47 — At Lake Mead, Karson Bailey and Clayton Pendleton each scored 13 points to lead the Eagles past the Vaqueros.

Derrick Thomas added nine points for Boulder City, which led 31-24 at halftime.

Drew Miller scored 13 points to lead the Vaqueros.

Spring Creek 48, The Meadows 35 — At Lake Mead, Levi Yaunick scored 18 points to lead the Spartans past the Mustangs.

Ryan Miner added 12 points for Spring Creek, which used a 16-7 third-quarter run to take control of the game.

Epstein scored 18 points to lead the Mustangs.

West Wendover 59, Lake Mead 58 — At Lake Mead, Saul Palacio scored 29 points to lead the Wolverines past the Eagles.

Donte Bristol scored 18 points to lead Lake Mead, which could not get a final shot off before time ran out.

Ryan Kennedy added 10 points for the Eagles.

West Wendover 73, Virgin Valley 51 — At Lake Mead, Jayden Perkins had 16 points, and Jason Brooks scored 11 but the Bulldogs couldn’t top the Wolverines.

Palacios led all scorers with 28 for the Wolverines.
