ROUNDUP: Coronado edges Foothill in boys basketball

The Coronado boys basketball team withstood a late rally Monday night to hand Foothill its first Southeast League loss, 64-61.

Nick Schmitt hit a 3-pointer from the corner in the final minute to give the host Cougars a five-point lead they didn’t relinquish.

Austin Nelson led Coronado with 15 points and seven assists, and Brandon Glanz contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Schmitt added 12 points and Jamel Morgan 11 for Coronado, which outscored Foothill 20-9 in the third quarter and won its eighth straight home game.

Evan Roquemore had 25 points for the Falcons. Gage Huff and Martin Earnest chipped in 10 points apiece.

Liberty 77, Del Sol 72 — At Del Sol, Kenneth Peters had 31 points to lead the Patriots over the Dragons.

Milos Knezevic added 26 points and Cameron Peters 10 for Liberty.

Anthony Martinez led Del Sol with 23 points. Chris Sanders added 21 points and Jeff Coon 12 for the Dragons.

Basic 69, Green Valley 63 — At Basic, James Holmes scored eight of his 16 points during a 25-15 fourth-quarter burst and had seven rebounds to lead the Wolves to their first Southeast League win of the year.

Mike Feher added 12 points and Vince Carducci 11 for the Wolves.

Julian Franklin led the Gators with 13 points, and Royce Alexander scored 10.

Silverado 77, Tech 52 — At Silverado, the Skyhawks had 18 steals in their win over the Roadrunners.

Silverado’s Ali Sabra scored 25, and James Lata and Wade Collie had 18 points apiece.

Tech’s Brandon Tiffany scored 14, and Mike Maglich had 12.

Cheyenne 86, Cimarron-Memorial 48 — At Cheyenne, Jaylen Henry had 16 points and nine rebounds, and Chris McCall had 16 points and seven rebounds to lead the Desert Shields past the Spartans.

J’Quon Wroten added 12 points and Demetric Williams 10 for Cheyenne, which led 46-21 at the half.

Kevin Olekaibe paced the Spartans with 14 points.

Centennial 71, Shadow Ridge 48 — At Shadow Ridge, Matt Holley led a balanced attack with 16 points as the Bulldogs grabbed a 30-15 halftime lead and cruised past the Mustangs.

Ben Vozzola added 15 points and Drew Staker 14 for the Bulldogs.

Zach Hafen paced Shadow Ridge with 24 points and seven rebounds.

Palo Verde 104, Arbor View 70 — At Arbor View, Moses Morgan poured in 21 points, and the Panthers never looked back after taking a 25-11 first-quarter lead against the Aggies.

Drew Topham added 19 points and Davion Pearson 15 for the Panthers, who had 13 players score at least two points.

Darington Banks paced the Aggies with 29 points. Maiscei Grier added 19 and Anthony Trepagnier 10 for Arbor View.

Mojave 52, Legacy 45 — At Legacy, Anthony Marshall and Prentice Marshall each had 11 points to lead the Rattlers past the Longhorns.

Legacy outscored Mojave 25-9 in the third quarter to take a 42-38 lead. But the Rattlers held Legacy to three fourth-quarter points.

Mojave’s Marques Strickland and Brandon Birdsong had 11 and 10 rebounds, respectively.

Sam Johnson led the Longhorns with 13 points. Delroy Gibbs added 10 points for Legacy.

Bishop Gorman 70, Pahrump Valley 55 — At Gorman, Shabazz Muhammad scored 13 of his 21 points in the second half to help the Gaels top the Trojans.

Anson Winder added 11 points and eight rebounds for Gorman.

Mike Amburgey and David Smith each scored 11 points for the Trojans.

Durango 76, Desert Oasis 68 — At Desert Oasis, Dario Jokic had 25 points to lead the Trailblazers past the Diamondbacks.

Marcus Falley scored eight of his 18 points in the first quarter to help Durango to a 20-8 lead. Falley also had 10 rebounds.

Anthony Lianzo scored 17 points to lead Desert Oasis. Nick Cruz added 12 points, and Derek Adkins, Cameron Mich’l and Cameron Jefferson each scored 11 for the Diamondbacks.

Adkins had nine rebounds and four assists.

Bonanza 56, Clark 49 — At Bonanza, Andrew Whiting scored 18 points for the Bengals in their win over the Chargers.

Desean Martin scored 12 for Bonanza.

Clark’s Rabbit Toler scored 20, Steven Dancy had 15 and Isidro Garcia 12.

Sierra Vista 70, Spring Valley 62 — At Spring Valley, Quinten Chow scored 15 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter for the Mountain Lions in their win over the Grizzlies.

Sierra Vista’s Amir Garrett scored 18, and Ray Tapusoa had 10.

Spring Valley’s Justin Omogun scored 16, and Tyler Lewis added 15.

Virgin Valley 58, Lake Mead 54 — At Lake Mead, Cameron Jensen and Anthony Morris scored seven points in the fourth quarter and finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively, in the Bulldogs’ win over the Eagles.

Terran Leavitt finished with 10 points for the Bulldogs.

Lake Mead’s Landon Littlefield scored 12 of his 19 points in the third quarter, and Demetrius Turner finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Oasis Christian 51, Sandy Valley 12 — At Oasis Christian, Oasis jumped out to a 23-0 lead and rolled.
