ROUNDUP: Canyon Springs tops Chaparral in boys basketball

Michael Thompson led all scorers with 21 points Wednesday as Canyon Springs’ boys basketball team used a 17-6 third-quarter run to down host Chaparral, 58-53.

The Pioneers took an 11-point lead into the fourth quarter after the score was tied at the half.

Jerome Young led Chaparral with 19 points, and teammate Chris Goodloe added 11.

Las Vegas 68, Rancho 59 — At Las Vegas, George Sanico had 16 points to help the Wildcats down the Rams.

Tyree Anderson added 14 points, Aamahd Franklin 12 and Hassan Henderson 10 for Las Vegas.

Tyler Gaston had 19 points and Kevin Plasencia 18 for Rancho.

Eldorado 75, Valley 64 — At Eldorado, Charles White had 26 points to lead the Sundevils, who used a 26-12 run in the fourth quarter to put away the game.

Ariel Baggett added 16 points, and Mitrell Clark and Curtis Stewart had 10 each for Eldorado. Marcus Moreland had 10 rebounds.

Johnquez Brooks scored 25 points to lead Valley. Khristian Kirkwood scored 12 points and Mitchell Deas 11 for the Vikings.

Arbor View 80, Boulder City 76 — At Arbor View, Darington Banks made 7 of 8 3-pointers and totaled 31 points as the Aggies held off the Eagles.

Banks scored 18 of his points in the second half. Maiscei Grier added 17 points and Stefon Palacio 10 for Arbor View.

Jeremy Smith led Boulder City with 22 points. Kyle Dimpel added 16 points and Shane Levin 12 for the Eagles.

Beatty 57, Spring Mountain 42 — At Saville Middle School, Anthony Regalado poured in 20 points, and Beatty breezed to a 33-13 halftime lead en route to the win.

Jacob Sumpter made all eight of his field goal attempts for the Hornets and had 16 points and eight rebounds. Ivan Maldonado added 12 points, and Joe Serrano dished out eight assists.

Davonte Sandifer led Spring Mountain with 17 points. Calvin Small scored 11.
